The food at the buffet at this Shoney's was fresh and at least hot, but the service was poor. The wait staff treated me as if I were not there, and I had to ask the manager to get me a refill on my drink. Then I had to beg for another drink from a very forgetful waitress so I could take my diabetes medication. They avoided me as though I had forgotten to take a shower, and I did indeed have my shower for the day. The whole experience of eating at Shoney's today did not make me feel good.
I dined at Shony's again today and I had a different quality of experience. They corrected their prior mistakes, and since I believe in giving credit where credit is due, I have have to update my review. I sure do not want to be a fuss budget complaining all the time, then no one would ever listen to me. My experience today was good. I didn't know it, but it was seafood day. They have a seafood buffet every Friday night, and the food is excellent. There is a great variety of selections, and you can taste a little bit of everything from stuff crabshells to oysters. Plus the service was really good today. The waitress was prompt and courteous. Today's experience was a nice break from the daily grind of every day problems, and I appreciate the change. The seafood buffet is so good I think I will make it a monthy habit. This is a really good place to feed my nerves. LOL
When eating at this Shoneys, you have to go and look at the buffet table before you decide to tell your server what you are going to have. It is typically a good value. Breakfast for 2 is about 12.50. Just be sure to look first. On our last visit, the scrambled eggs were all runny, wet and nasty looking. The rest of the table looked like it had been sitting for a long time. All of the ites were dried out on top. Someone should have gone around and stirred the stuff together to keep it rotated and fresher looking.
