I have lived in the Staunton area my entire life. I'm 50 by the way. Yet hadn't eaten at the Mill Street Grill, until just a few months ago. I could write a long, drawn out review. Instead, I'll just say this. I'll be back again and again. Probably the best restaurant in the area!
Excellent food. Good selection of wines/beer. Great atmosphere.
Portions are fairly large.
We had our rehearsal dinner there and the service was great!
This is the best restaurant in Staunton as far as we are concerned.
We moved to this small area about a year ago from a big city where we were used to great restaurants. Mill Street Grill has impressed us from the first visit! The food is excellent and what's more impressive is that it is consistantly excellent every time we go. Their homemade flavored butters are delicious and they have THE BEST baby back ribs you've ever had- fall off the bone tender and perfectly flavored every time! One of the few restaurants in town where you might have to wait on a Friday or Saturday night, but well worth it!
My wife and I moved to Staunton a few years ago and ever since the Mill St. has been our favorite restaurant! The food and service are always excellent, even when crowded. Live jazz on Wednesday is always a good time to go. May get busy, but worth the wait. They have nightly specials and it's always hard to decide on getting a special or one of their mainstay dishes. The steaks, seafood and ribs are excellent.

We all had a killer soup; blue crab & gorgonzola, nice & creamy with a little tang of blue cheese. It was wonderful. The salads were nice with an assortment of mixed greens and vegetables and they were topped with toasted almond for a nice crunch. The offered about 8 or 9 different dressing, but we got the orange poppy seed and the balsamic vignette, they were tasty and different, the fresh ground pepper was a nice touch as was the fresh baked bread with the apple cinnamon butter. The seafood platter had oysters Rockefellers, soft-shell crab, steamed shrimp and blackened Mahi Mahi, it was a huge portion for one person and it was delicious. There was a Cajun dish with snapper in a white wine sauce with capers and fresh tomato and mushrooms it was spicy, but very flavorful. Sesame crusted tuna was the last dish order and I was surprise when they ask for a te
