Had dinner here last night - LOVED IT!!!!!!!! Cannot wait to go back again! Corn fritters w/honey were pure love! I could have made a meal on just those. Beef Stew was excellent (best I've had), fried grits were awesome, stuffed squash was great, and dessert (hot fudge cake w/ice cream) just topped off the perfect evening. (haven't even mentioned the homemade bread yet!) If you're thinking about trying this restaurant, you MUST! Expect to spend at least 1 1/2 to 2 hours (they have a neat gift shop too), as the food is freshly made (no fast food here!) and you'll want to savor the time. 5 Stars!

This is my favorite restaurant! If you are in a hurry, do not go there. They state plainly that they do not rush you through dinner. It is very relaxing and romantic. I have never had a bad waitress in all the years I've been there. The food is great and the atmosphere is superb!

I moved to Wytheville recently and have tried several restaurants in the area. I think the Log House has the best food in town. If you are looking for a romantic place to take a date or to have a dinner party or to dine alone, this is the place to go. They have a unique gift shop and a bar/lounge in the rear of the building, off street parking, and friendly staff. It is relaxing and very festive with tiny white lights in the trees in the garden and throughout the interior. It has several cozy rooms with exposed logs in the walls and fireplaces. All look original to the 1776 building. You can actually have a quiet conversation while dining by candlelight. Not like most restaurants today where the music is so load it is almost impossible to communicate with your guest. Don't miss this little treasure with its old world charm and its great food when visiting Wytheville.

I received a lot of good reviews from close friends and decided to take my wife there for an early Valentines dinner. It was exquisite! We had the shrimp cocktail for an appetiser. She had the 16oz ribeye m/r with parsley potatoes and broccoli and I had the 16oz ribeye rare with potatoes and slaw. Both steaks were cooked to perfection followed by a glass of Shiraz and Cabernet Saviongion. The service was excellent and would recommend this resturant to anyone that wants to enjoy a loving atmospere and true dining experience in the Wytheville area. After dining, we walked through the courtyard, talked to the rabbit and bird, finally visited the interesting gift shop. It was truly an amazing evening. You must call and make reservations and have the same enjoyable evening that my wife and I had.

My husband and I ate lunch at the Log House on 6/27/10. While the food was not exceptional, it was good and the waitress was nice and friendly. What I really enjoyed was the atmosphere. There is a history of the log house written on the back of the menu and it is quite fascinating to realize all that went on in the very place that we were sitting. The garden area was pretty, but I was sad that the gift shop was not open. Even though it says on the menu that the gift shop is open during the same hours as the dining room, I would call ahead and check to make sure that it is open.

Our hotel clerk suggested we go here. At first site we got very excited. It's such a sweet, charming, old, historical building. Going in, I could tell they were more laid back than other high end establishments. I have had lots of experience in the restaurant business. After being seated, my husband ordered a bottle of wine while my five year old son and I explored this ancient building at its maze of rooms. Not long after did my husband find us and hand delivered a glass of red wine to me in the backyard gardens, It was close to sun set and picture perfect out. We were in heaven. There was a real bunny in a small, fenced in, cute, little bunny habitat, that he got to play with. My son was so content he didn't want to leave. This made waiting for dinner very easy. I loved the gift shop.so waiting was easy for me too. They have the most interesting gifts. Finally the waitress came to tell us that dinner had been served. So if your going for fast service stay home but if your looking for good food made with love go and take your time and enjoy the atmosphere, with a good glass of wine in hand :-) Very kid friendly. Loved it!! can't wait to go back.

We made reservations for 13 (several of us had traveled over 300 miles that day) and were told that we would be seated on the first level since we had 3 seniors using canes. When we arrived we were told by a VERY NASTY woman, that there was no available seating for 13 except what they put together for us on the second floor. After a bit of arguing (with no apology for the mix up from mgmt) we headed upstairs with our party. Our server was extremely pleasant and did everything he could to satisfy. He had a rib injury and none of his co-workers would assist him to carry our orders upstairs which we all thought was rude. 12 of our meals were luke warm at best. Two orders had to be sent back because they were completely cold. Two others were served completely wrong steaks and cooked wrong. Even though it wasn't the best experience, the food was tasty (especially the stuffed squash), the atmosphere is beautiful, however, management needs to take some classes on proper customer service. VERY VERY RUDE!!!
