also i see other reviews written, some people dont know the value of food and say OH ITS AWESOME, but do LISTEN to the others, like one person said, the staff is creepy, which i used to have a friend that 2 of the employees lived downstairs, an asian and a mexican guy, and they were SO NASTY, VERY unsanitary people, disgusting. The staff members can be very rude and impatient and just plain rotten, though on the small occasion they are so-so, or okay to deal with. The place isn't sanitary, its quite dirty as i saw the houses the employees live in. The food is just okay, not that great, like i said if you want chinese food and dont care about your health, load it with soy sauce and enjoy, its not bad, i like the giant egg rolls.
but seriously, go to the Golden Dragon up the road, I have known the family that owns it for 20 years and they are good clean people who take pride in their food and restaurant, they always make a brand new tray of lo mein when i come because im friends of the family and they know i love the noodles there :)
The prices are low, the portions are large and the consistency is great. The restaurant's decor is about as spartan as it gets, but all I really care about is the food.My co-worker and I have gotten take-out from Happy Star almost every weekend for four years, and 99% of the time we've been very pleased with our meals. The proprietors are stone-faced until you get to know them, but they always smile and are friendly to us.
