Sakura Japanese Steak, Salem

Don't believe the four and a half stars. The owners must have written those reviews themselves. Until tonight, I have never met a Japanese Steak House I did not like. First, no habachi tables - all food cooked in the kitchen. Then, food was so bland (ginger salad dressing so sweet it made you pucker and veggies were soggy). I asked for wasabi, and have you ever heard of a Japanese restaurant that did not have wasabi? Then went to the rest room and there was no toilet paper. Then tried to leave and the door was locked and had to wait in the smell of ammonia that ruined what little taste we had left.

I really love this place! The food has never once disappointed me and the service is great. I always leave stuffed though, they give you a lot of food. But it's good food.

This is the BEST restaurant in town. My fiance and I go there at least once a week and he loves the pillows at the door! haha the staff is always so friendly and the food is always hot and fresh. I have recommended this restaurant to everyone!! It's the best!

At first, I heard from my friend about this great restaurant. Then I went to try it out myself. I have to say I was more than happy about the experience. The waitress there were friendly. The price tag very is reasonable. And the best of all, the food I ordered, teriaki chicken, it tasted really good. I would definitely recommend others to try out the restaurant.

I eat here atleast once a week. It's my fave restaurant in town. The salad dressing is delicious & their white sauce is out of this world. The teriaki chicken is my favorite!

Located in the long since gone McDonald's on Brandon Avenue, Sakura is a nice place for fast food Japanese in a minimalist-styled setting. Lunch service is fast - plenty of time to drive there and back in an hour. The waitstaff is always pleasant and attentive. My favorite dish is the lunch teriyaki chicken. Begining with their salad (served drowning in their delicious dressing) and soup (with nice ginger slices on top and meat on the bottom). I love their sticky white rice! Their chicken has bigger chunks of meat than some of the other restaurants in the area and is served with vegetables (mushrooms, zucchini, onion, broccoli, carrots) that I really don't care for. I guess I'm spoiled by Tokyo's meals coming with tempura. For something fast and quick, Sakura is great. For a true Japanese experience, I'd venture somewhere else!
