My last time at the alley will be my final time. We got there well before 11 pm on a Saturday night, and the line moved painfully slow. It took us over 45 minutes to get inside. The “security guards” are very rude and condescending, constantly yelling at everyone to get into one line. The lady who checks your ID at the door once questioned if the picture on my drivers license was really me…I don’t look THAT much different. Inside there are two sides, one of which is constantly packed. The other side is more for the older crowd, and those who want to play pool, lounge, dance, and watch TV. I’ve been going to this club for about 3 years and it has gotten progressively worse. Wouldn’t recommend.
I ve been going to this club for a little over a year now. At first, it was cool and laid back. As time went on, messy things started to happen. Not only did my car get shot into while inside the club, but silly drama with a female who said me and my friends couldn t stand sit around her VIP section. (It s not her building to begin with.) This past Saturday, I had an encounter with this rude a** bouncer. Most of them are rude as ever. They are unprofessional and they don t have to worry about me coming back to that hole in the wall ever again. I suggest you go to Blurr or Twist if you do go to the Peninsula.
The Alley is really not that bad if you want to jst get out, because thre is absolutely no where else to go ,although i agree drinks are watered down, and you may think your ordering a well drink and get somthing cheap so jst be careful of that.
Visited the Alley on the weekend of 8/29/2009 for sisters 29th B-day at which her husband paid in advance for VIP area. We were told to arrive prior to 11 for free admittance...little to our surprise they kept our ENTIRE PARTY waiting outside until 11pm resulting in the ENTIRE VIP PARTY including the birthday girl to have to pay a $15.00 entree fee. Not only did we have to pay, but we also had to wait in the general line with everyone else. According to the club owner VIP OR not everybody waits in line, unfortunately he failed to advise us of this when he was paid 200 in advance to book the VIP area. Sorry folks the only thing this VIP includes is the booth and a dozen chicken wings as we had to hunt down our PRIVATE waitress for our overpriced watered down drinks and got harassed by the staff through out the night. This so called club owner needs a crash course in business...he has definitely forgotten some very important business practices and at the rate he is going the ALLEY will be back in court with a few lawsuits on their hands! Had a really good time, the dj played really good music, I didn't have to wait at all for drinks because there were so many bartenders, and the atmosphere was really friendly. Met a group of girls from Hampton University and they tagged along with us the whole night. No fights or drama... I would definetly go again
I had my 23rd birthday party there, and it was off the chains!!!! no a single fight!!! everybody was relaxed and having such a good time! the music was the bomb and the drinks were hittin the spot!!! i cant wait till next year to do it all over agian!
I went there for my birthday this year && I had a ball! I always heard about the fights&& shootouts, but went anyway && had fun. You have to make it a good time for yourself! The drinks were great && not expensive at all!
Absolutely the worst club I have ever been too. Over priced drinks, fighting constantly, females dancing on the floor with their shoes off, overly crowded, and run down. The second I walked in, there was all ready a fight going on, and 2 more through out the night. I would never visit this club again.
OK FOR ANYBODY THAT LIVES ON THIS SIDE OF THE WATER YOU KNOW THAT THERE ARE NOT MANY CLUBS OVER HERE PERIOD. THE ALLEY IS A GOOD SPOT FOR THE SIMPLE FACT THAT WHEN YOU ARE TRYING TO GET DRUNK AND HAVE A GOOD TIME YOU DON'T WANT TO DRIVE TO FAR. AND YOU CAN'T ALWAYS GET SOMEONE TO DRIVE TO BADA BING, CLUB MIAMI, CLUB REIN, OR ANYTHING ELSE IN THE NORFOLK, VIRGINIA BEACH AREA. SO SOMETIMES YOU HAVE TO MAKE DO WITH WHAT YOU HAVE. THE BEST NIGHT TO GO IS WEDNESDAYS BECAUSE THE CROWD IS USUALLY 21-30 ON THAT NIGHT ON FRIDAYS YOU GET THE OLDER MEN THAT TRY TO PUSH UP ON YOU, WHICH IS NOT A GOOD LOOK. THEY HAVE GOOD FOOD, CUTIES PLENTY OF BARS TO CHOOSE FROM, FOR THE PEOPLE THAT NEVER BEEN THERE THE ALLEY HAS TWO DIFFRENT CLUBS IN ONE BUILDING. IN THE CAFE SIDE THEY HAVE 6 DIFFRENT SPOTS TO GET DRINKS FROM AND IN THE WALLSTREET SIDE THEY HAVE TWO SPOTS. THEY MAKE EVERY DRINK YOU CAN THINK OF. THE BEST SIDE IS THE CAFE SIDE BUT THE WALLSTREET SIDE IS COOLER.
