Great food, terrible service
The mint is an unusual place in both menu and decor, very atmospheric on both. Not many people around here are terribly familiar with Nepalese food, but by no means should you let that put you off, you will find plenty to enjoy on their menu. Tasty food, well-prepared, new flavours to enjoy but not so new you won't know (and love) what you're eating.
Like most other reviews of The Mint, I have to say the experience badly falls down on the service. No matter how fascinating your date, you will both run out of things to say long before the third time you see your waiter/waitress. Getting a drink refilled or calling over a server to correct a minor problem is next to impossible -- you may even wait up to 30 minutes for the check!!!
Another jarring element is that after 9pm the place shifts into "bar" mode and cranks the music WAY up. May not be a problem for all patrons, but if you want a quiet dinner (or to be able to have a conversation), make your reservation for 7 and hope you can get out of there by 9.
