Ray's Pizza & Pasta, Portsmouth

I have had Ray's delivered on three occasions. The first time was great. The second time I ordered a calzone. It did not have ricotta cheese in it. I called and spoke to a rude woman that told me that the ricotta had melted into the mozzarella. Sure. I just had an order delivered. Once again the hag that told me about the ricotta got on the phone. I was told that even though I ordered a combo I was only charged for chicken fingers and if I wanted the fries then I would have to pay more money. I said fine, no problem. I recommend Chanello's on High Street.

Ray's is a great place to relax and eat really good food. I have been going there since right after they opened.Its always been a friendly place where they remember you.Each year for my hubby's B/D he could go anywhere but it's always Ray's.Ray himself makes a clam dish for him that is not even on the menu.Now thats service.To me its the only local place to get a sub like we make in Jersey.YUMMY.I had Pam cater one B/D party and as always it was super.

My spaghetti was over cooked and had a piece of brown lettuce in it. I asked for a new plate I set and watched the cook take the spaghetti and pick the brown lettuce out. He then proceeded to put some cheese on it and throw it back in the oven. not only was food that was completely foriegn to spaghetti in my food the cook stuck his ungloved covered hand in my food. I asked hey can I get a fresh plate since mystery food was in it, and i was not going to eat what he just picked over. I got told no and the cook said it was not our problem. Then the black haired waitress was rude to me and hit on my husband. From what i guess was a tragic attempt to savage her tip. I was so disgusted with her appearance that I wondered if I was at rays or hooters. She was wearing a white shirt with a black bra and God knows how many tattoos. Who lets their employees come to work like that at a so-called family restaurant?

Great place to eat for lunch! Sometimes Italian food during the day is good and Ray's NY style pizza hits the spot. Their primerib sandwich is exellent, they should have it more often! The daytime service is convenient and QUICK!! Espeacially Tina the waitress, that girl needs a pair of rollerskates! The atmosphere somestimes can get loud in the kitchen. Good Eats,Exellent server,balences out the noise!!

Great Greek Salads, Pizza, and Sandwiches. Some don't liked the mucic but it brings back alot of memories for some of us. Keep up the good work. Love the Place!!!!
