Awful food! Only redeeming factor was the outdoor eating atmosphere, which had some cool music (salsa style, rather than cheesy Mexican polka). My husband ordered potato enchiladas. They just dumped straight tomato sauce out of a can on top. My veggie fajitas were strange - broccoli and cauliflower in a fajita? Seemed more like a stir-fry. We don't recommend this place.
The Food is disgusting, this is not an authentic Mexican Restaurant. I ordered the Nachos and a Chicken Quesadilla, and they both were nasty. The nachos had unseasoned plain ground beef, with american cheese melted on top, and the chicken quesadilla was like a cold soft taco. Taco Bell is more Authentic and flavorful than this restaurant. The people who work in the restaurant are nasty too. After we ate, we watched one of the cleaners dip is dirty hands into the bucket of salsa, that they serve to the customers. I would not recommend this restaurant to anybody.
The only reason I did not give this restaurant zero stars is because it wasn't an option. The food at this place rates slightly below what you can get at a Taco Bell drive through. The burrito I was served was cold in the middle, and the sauce on it was terrible. Everything tasted as if it came out of a can. The lemon in my girlfriend's water had brown spots on it, and the server brought me the wrong beer three times. I do not know what's worse, the food or atmosphere as it gets later. We had a late dinner, and after 9PM this place is as loud and obnoxious as they come. The music practically gets turned up to concert levels, and the drunken hordes start to pile in. So, if you want to served absolutely terrible food, in a loud environment, and be surrounded by inebriated bar hoppers then this is the place to be. Otherwise, go to just about any other mexican restuarant in Virginia Beach.
We payed cover and we stepped out the door for a second, we had wrist bands on bouncer saw us and wouldnt let us back in. There was a line but if i payed the cover and i cant get back in they should worn people or have a larger patio area, to crowded. Ruined night! o n bad service
We eat mexican at least 2x's a week. The prices at this restuarant are outrageous. If you like a VERY strong margarita-then you'll love theirs. It was so strong I couldn't drink it, and ordered a coke instead - we were charged for refills. Maybe we don't vacation enough and this is the norm .... OH! and don't forget about the sign for parking ... there is none, unless you want to pay $10 for an hour. Needless to say, I was not happy. You figure with the amount of customers in and out that the prices would be a bit more reasonable.
Just yesterday I decided that I wanted mexican food while I was down at the oceanfront. I decided to go to Guadalajara's for the first time. When I got there I was told to sit where ever I wanted (which I thought was a little odd and/or unorganized. Once our waiter came over (which was one of the few times that he came) we ordered nachos, one soda and a small margarita which the waiter specifically told us was $6.25. My boyfriend asked the waiter what flavors the small margarita came in and he told us the flavors..(even though the menu did not list flavors). So about 20 mins later, our food came and that was the last we saw our waiter.....of course until he briefly came by to drop the check off. After reviewing the check I realized that he charged me $8.25 for the margarita so when he came to collect the money, I told him nicely that he overcharged us and that the drink was supposed to be $6.25. Thats when the waiter began laughing like it was a joke and told me that because we asked what flavors the margarita came in, he assumed that we wanted the $8.25 drink instead of the $6.25 drink. Long story short, the manager came to us laughing as well and was very rude..saying that we should have read the menu more carefully and there was nothing he could do. Then he and the waiter began talking in spanish and laughed some more..assuming that we wouldnt know that they were talking about us. I paid but proudly said that they will never get any more business from me!!!!!!!!!!! I hope they stop ripping people off!!!!! Ive seen the other reviews
