Guadalajara Mexican Cantina, Virginia Beach

I've been to the guadalajara in town centre and i love their food. I live in chesapeake and it's quite a long drive to go to my nearest one,but on easter i saw that they were having a special so i decided to go. When i got their a sign was on the door saying that they were closed for easter. what, i was very upset since i saw on their site that they were open for easter. Today i went out to guadalajara since it had been awhile and it wasn't a holiday and i knew that they would be opened. I got to the reasturant and saw on their door that they would be closing early for a party. well,that was fine since it was several hours before they would close. My family and I went inside to only be told rudely that they were setting up for a party and that the restaurant was closed. i told the lady nicely that the sign said that they would be closing at 5. she just told me she didn't work at the restaurant. I left quite easily mad and not thinking of returning. great food but very poor customer service.

This was my first time eating here today. The prices are beyond high for everything. My husband and I ordered the California Burrito, and there is nothing California about it.They put tomato sauce all over the burrito. The meat was cut too big and very chewy. Yuck. We were born and raised in San jose California and no one makes burritos like this place nor have prices this high in California. Your best bet is going to Taco Bell and paying 5 bucks for a steak burrito.

The prices to this place is outrageous. A side of sour cream..$2.00, come on now you can buy a big thing at a graocery store for less that that. And if you use a debit or credit card, make SURE you look at your statement cause they added a little to mine after I put the amount with tip. I get my statement and they had added a couple more dollars to it!! Never again will I eat there

I do not know how the food is but if you are looking for a place to go dancing this is not it. We paid $20 a piece to be served drinks and shots in plastic cups and then be run out at 1:30am. The inside club is definitely nothing special either. Would never return!!

$10 to get in the door (even for women), well vodka and 7up $7, this place has no clue!!

Ive got to agree with manny out there, Guads use to be the place to eat and have a couple drinks at a fair price...now it's gone crazy with the price's, call it greed I guess, there's plenty of other mexican place's to go, with better deals.

I too used to frequent this restaurant at least 3x a month. I loved it. The prices now are much too expensive now. $14.00 for a margarita is too much. It's unfortunate. I loved this place, but now will be takng my business somewhere more affordable.

My husband and I have hung out at Guads located on GeneralBooth Blvd for several years. I love the margaritas, the atmosphere is great and our favorites are the bartenders and the regulars. Just last week the owner decided to raise prices of drinks by $4.00 each!!!!! We expressed our concerns to management along with some other regulars and he did not seem to care that we would not be back. I'm not sure how you can decide to raise prices that much especially in an economy like today. I feel that it was a poor business decision. If you visit Guads at any location just be aware that the food and drink prices have increased greatly. VA Beach has so many other great, fun places to visit without the high prices. It's a Mexican resturant for heaven's sake!!!! My rating is based on the bar staff only!!!!!

My family and I recently visited this restaurant. We are from a border city with Mexico that is actually well known for authentic Mexican food. We were happy with Guadalajara's atmosphere and service. The food was good as it was not at all greasy or too spicy. We have tried other Mexican restaurants in Virginia Beach and so far, this has been the best Mexican retaurant in Virginia Beach.
