I make it a point to go to Captain Georges whenever I'm in Virginia Beach. I LOVE IT!!! The food is fantastic and it's always continuous. I agree that it's a little overpriced but I can definitely eat $30 worth of food there. Remember it's a marathon not a sprint. Take your time, eat, and enjoy your company

My family and I went to Captain George's last summer and when I say family we had at least 15 people at the table. The food was good but a little overpriced. My problem was with the service and then with the management afterwards. We had multiple problems with our server but would have gone back if we had not been treated like crap by the management. As soon as they realized we were "tourists" they lost interest in trying to improve the situation. I was so upset after leaving that I called back and asked to speak to the regional manager and was told he would return my call as soon as he could. I never heard back and called their headquarters...was told once again that I would get a return call and am still waiting a year later for that call. We are going back to VA in a few days and I and my huge family will eat elsewhere! I should say that one of my huge problems that they refused to address is that they SERVED ALCOHOL TO MINORS at our table!!! The teenagers ordered drinks and they were brought to the table. It was not until I took the drinks away and said something to the server that they asked to see id from the entire table. So...if you want average food at expensive prices and HORRIBLE SERVICE with a company that does not value its customers or the law this is the place to get it.

Captain George's is the best restaurant I have ever eaten in. That sums it up. The food is so fresh, so flavorful and so plentiful you really need to experience it to believe it. My wife and I live on the gulf coast in Texas, and we regularly eat seafood, We took a cross country trip to visit some friends on the east coast- around dinner time, we used the GPS to search for restaurants close to our position in Virginia Beach and when Seafood and Buffet came up, we decided to take a look. First of all, it is not that expensive as some have claimed- remember you are getting to eat as much, crab, shrimp, clams, and even prime rib as you want. The food is so well prepared, I have trouble comparing it to anything else. They have soft shelled crab. hard shelled crab. Crab imperial,Crab legs, ect, ect, ect. We were lucky to visit Captain Georges back in 2009, and we still talk about it to this day as being the best eating experience either one of us has ever had, and we eat out at nice restaurants on a regular basis. The location in Virgina beach is impressively decorated as well, they have all sorts of high dollar nautical wares everywhere to look at - the restaurant is even shaped like a ship on the outside!. We are planning another trip up that way soon in the hopes of getting to eat there again. If you will be anywhere near Virginia Beach, this is a must-eat establishment. Food should make you happy, and this food does just that.

In 2007, my three year old and I stumbled across Capt. George's while on vacation at the beach. I thought it was quite expensive but boy, were we in for a treat! This restaurant is by far the BEST on the East Coast for Seafood. I'm talking steamed clams, crablegs, shrimp, crab cakes, etc. You name it, they have it! The first time, my toddler and I closed the restaurant down! I was so surprised at how my son ate those steamed clams. He loves 'em. I myself am all for the clams and crabs. They can't keep 'em on the bar long enough. Now, since we vacation in VA Beach every year, we make Capt. George's our "Saturday night attraction". This place is well worth the money and guaranteed to keep you coming back! By the way, Capt. George, we plan to be there this weekend! Save us a seat! :-) March 2010

On April 12, My family and myself had the pleasure of going to Captain George's for dinner to celebrating my daughter's 25th birthday. The dinner was wonderful and the waiter that we had was excellent. I would recommend this Captain George's to anyone.

Captains George's seafood Buffet was a unique and wonderful experience. When I entered the staff was all in blak and in nice attire, most vacationers were unawre of the nice attire rule but was no problem. Were i was seated was far from the buffet line and litterally a line to get to different foods. The cakes were dry and tasteless but the more fresh made desserts were top-notch. The food was the best in taste but not quality. Much had much flavor. This is high dining so don't be rude. very good place to eat. But a star off for the staffs atitude. Most were teens although many were kind and polite.

I absolutely LOVE Captain George's and go back often! I have been to the one in Williamsburg, and Hilltop in Virginia Beach. Both are great, but I wish the one in PUNGO would re-open! I really loved to sit by the window and watch the canal while I was eating. Very relaxing in a country type of setting. Not to mention it was less crowded than the other restaurants. Staff is very friendly, very helpful, and the food is fresh! I have never found anything on the buffet that I didn't like. It is well worth the price!

I visited Virginia Beach this summer and went out to eat lunch with my family. By mistake, we ended up at Captain George's where none of us had been before, and what a nice mistake it turned out to be. Three of us ordered the crab cake sandwich and we were all impressed, even though we are all from Maryland and find Maryland style crab cakes hard to beat. The crab cake at Captain George's covered the entire surface of the bun and I did not find it to be full of filler and breading since the crab cake fell apart easily (one sign that the crab cake does not have lots of bread and filler in it). It was very tasty, probably the best crab cake I've had outside of Maryland, and that is really saying something. It was not a Maryland style crab cake, but was great regardless. We sat in the more casual part o f the restaurant, and it was very nice, clean and comfortable. The service was excellent and the members of my family who live in Virginia Beach found a new, enjoyable place to eat.
