The Melting Pot - Virginia Beach, Virginia Beach

This is one of my favorite restaurants. If you have a special occasion coming up--or just have the $ and want a special meal you should spring for "The Big Night Out" which is a three course fondue meal to die for. The price is $68 per couple (the seafood main course it more expensive). The cheddar cheese fondue is so yummy, with veggies & bread to dip. I was surprised to find that green apple wedges taste great dipped in cheddar. Then comes the main course with a variety of meats & many different sauces to try. Then---DESERT HEAVEN! Chocolate fondue. Make sure to save room--this is the best part. There are strawberries, pinapple, cheescake & other delectables to smother in chocolate. The mixed drinks are great fun, if a bit pricey & there is an extensive wine list. The service has been great every time I've been. They explain everything to you, which is good because there is a lot to choose from. The wait staff has also proved helpful in suggesting wines. The atmosphere is great--very metropolitan and jazzy. If you are a couple going on a romantic date mention it when you make reservations & they can seat you in a private alcove. Fri & Sat are reservations only & I would suggest making a reservation no matter what night to be on the safe side. This is a popular place--for good reason. Enjoy!
