Yama Sushi Bar, Virginia Beach

Yama's is one of the BEST Sushi Bars we've ate at in Va Beach and we have ate at a lot of Sushi Bars.

Went here on a recommendation and was not dissapointed. Stopped in on a Tuesday for lunch and the place started to fill up with locals, tells me that this place is loved by them as well. Heard the expanded the place 2 times already. Overall the sushi was very good. Some of the rolls are a little overpriced but they make up for it by size and taste. Granted they do offer you a free roll of their choice, but I'm not basing my review on the fact they give you something free. Would go back here again. Very friendly place and the service was very good also. As far as the people running the place, my hats off to them for providing a great sushi place. Will be back

I had heard about this place from my hubby but had to try it myself .So tonight my hubby and our friends went to Yama's .We left full and not disappointed. AWESOME!! I even tried some sushi I didn't think i would try !! I would totally recommend it to all who ask and even those who don't ask.

the sushi is good no where near great as some people say. The place always seems to be a little hot and uncomfortable at moments. They put too much mayo on the top of the rolls. I ask them to keep it off. This is not sushi all the time most rolls are fried--

Yama is by far the best sushi restaraunt in Va. Beach. The service is great and the food is delicious. Must try the sunset roll if you like spicy salmon. My husband prefers the asahi roll(has fried oyster in it). We typically visit at least 2-3 times a month and have never been disappointed, usually get a roll and dessert on the house. The miso soup and seaweed salad are also a favorite.

Yama was the first sushi restaurant i have ever been to. I was pleasantly suprised when i really enjoyed it. i was very pleased with their service. everyone is very friendly and its a big plus to get a free roll in as well, it gives you a chance to try something new that you wouldnt think about trying. 2 thumbs up!!!

This place really is the best sushi place in Virginia Beach! The rolls are all so delicious, the best so far being the candy cane roll, and they have so many to choose from. The service is awesome and they usually always throw in some free rolls! If you haven't been here you are totally missing out!

This place is great, fantastic sushi! It's a little easier on your wallet than most sushi bars and you get a lot for the price you pay. The inside is nice and bright and the staff is very quick and friendly. (Try the ocean roll!!)

One of the best sushi places in Tidewater when they first opened. Excellent variety and presentation. However, once word got out and they got busy - the wait for a meal was often over an hour (happened to me 3 times). They just expanded, and I haven't been back since then, so hopefully they have added enough sushi chefs and wait staff to solve that problem.
