Holiday Trav-L Park, Virginia Beach

I was considering the campground for a trip I am planning in July with my wife and two grand-daughters but after reading many of these reviews I need to rethink and find someplace else. There is a national chain campground just down the street but the cost is 2X. Lack of competition in this area drives this behavior/attitude.

We had a great stay in one of their Super Sites. They are were large, clean and had lots of amenities. We had a great week of relaxing and enjoying the area. The price was fair and they even have free beach parking wich is only a direct 2 mile drive.

I was going to stay until somebody messaged me on Facebook about this. Search the Virginia State Police Sex offender website using the campgrounds address. Then make you decision if you want to bring your children to a campground that lets multiple sex offenders LIVE and WORK there.

I just came back from a FABULOUS weekend! The staff was so helpful in accommodating my large family (15 of us....5 adults, 10 children) and getting us situated in sites big enough for all of us. The bathrooms were amazing never have I ever seen such beautiful bathrooms in a campground! The Jet noises were a bit loud at times but nothing like other people have complained about. The kids had so much fun there was no time to be bored! My family and I can not wait to go back for a week next year.

I stayed at this campground here very recently. I will say that some of these reviews are bull. The only way you will know anything is to stay at this campground yourself! Experience the jets flying over day and night. (dont forgets its by naval base). They do have activities but the pools were crowed. Lets say all 4 were not opened. The bathrooms were so nasty I was afraid to go in them. Our reservation was done over the phone and went great, until we got there and had to change sites due to the fact we were 2 hours early and our site was already taken!!! I know for a fact that one of these reviews are writtin by one of the employers. Of course they are going to say great things about the grounds. One of the employers got angry with my group lets just say we will not go back.

Park is great stayed there many times can't wait to go back.They have many activites and great pool partys.We have been there with friends and have kept us close every time.I would send anyone to this park unless you don't want to have FUN.

We booked a campsite a few years back, we only stayed 3 nights, but it was pleasant, the kids had pool party's every night. The restrooms were to alot to be desired true, but you just have to make sure you wear flip flops in the shower. The staff for the most part speak french and many have a thick french accent, but if your careful, they do explain everything. Trash is picked up daily, you just have to tie it to the campsite number pole. When we were there it was early August, the planes flew during the day, didn't hear any at night. Big plus is parking at the beach is free, just get there early. Wood for fires, is sold at the campsite store, and the gas station at the corner on Gen. Booth Blvd. yes it is expensive, but I've found its the same anywhere that is a tourist attraction. When making reservations, do it by phone, tell the worker the amount of days you want, and that you will not be willing to move. Just remember, there are alot of french speaking people at this campground and they may not understand fully so have them repeat your requests back to you.

Although personnel friendly and large sites, the rest stops there. Restrooms were not cleaned well, with horrible odor, if you use a pop up camper, there are no waste water dump locations, The noise from aircraft is deafening all day and night. Grounds sit right below flight path for runway. As big as this facility is, only two dump stations and they are not located anywhere near easy use nor toward exiting facility. They did not provide any info on trash pick up nor where to take it. Showers were very far apart and only in two locations. I would not recommend nor will not go back
