Ancient City of Damascus, Damascus

I am from damascus syria but i was born and raised in texas.. when the time came for me to go and finally meet my family members in syria i was scared.i didnt think i would love it as much as i hated it.. i would always think that they wont like me cause im syrian/american or because i didnt think like them, etc. i do speak arabic but english mostly so i went there there are some words i didnt know how to say in arabic so i would have to say it in english.. i thought perople there were weird and crazy or they might something about me cause i didnt have a hijab on or cause the way i am dressed.. but i was mistaken syria is the most beautiful country i have been to in my life.. and i am thinking about moving there for good in the summer.. i am a graduated medical doctor and i am willing to take my degree and finish in syria. i have been told there is a lot of good doctors needed.. it is amazing and beautiful im not just saying that cause i am syrian but it is truely a wonderful country to go and it is relaxing and has alot of unique places that you can go and explore.i was there in july 2008 for a whole 8 months just exploring damascus and the way life is there and i have decided to live there.. i am from shagour its a place in damascus and thats where my family is from.. its wonderful...

there are many attraction beside ancient city for example the national musuem , mount Kasion , Hamidieh , Medhat Basha ,seven doors of Damascus,Omayad mosque,any one of the 55 baths in Damascus,Khan Asaad Basha, saint babthith restplace,and many many more it is the oldest living city in the world thanks

syria has got to be by far one of the most beautiful countries i have had the pleasure of visiting, if u like history you will love syria. The streets of damascus have this wonderful vibe about them this sensual feeling you will embelish in the beautey that is syria, the people are very freindly shopping is very very cheap hotels are great and also very cheap and the restaurants are just wonderful. Theres alot to see and do in the beautiful country and i recommend everyone give it a try.. I for one am definatley going back there inshallah!!

The only problem there is the traffic jams. It's one of the most important and valuable cities in the whole wide world.Do you it is the oldest city in the world?and all the prophets had been there? Do you know who built it? It was said that the grand son of prophet Noah built it and the battle of Abel and Cane (Adam's sons)fought on its famous mountain.

syria is full of history and is just gorgeous. especially the ummayyad mosque.the people are very friendly and welcoming and the food is great.i recommend anybody who appreciates history to go there.
