Taj Mahal, Agra

Granted the Taj was simply stunning. The begging and the filth succombs to it's splendor.

Beyond discription.... two other tombs on either side of the main Taj for the other two wives.... surrounded by and outer fortrice like walled enclosure.....but you have to walk through filthy streets , garbage, street vendors and beggers to get to it...ruins the surroundings...locals should be ashamed they allow this wonder of the world to be surrounded by filth....

It is the most beautiful place in the subcontintent. Some of the racist tirades on this forum are sad, however, because it is a beautiful contribution to world architecture and history. Just because it happens to be a MUSLIM contribution to world architecture and history doesn't mean people can start making up lies about its origin or taint its existence. So please, people if you are antisemitic and hate Arabs or the Islamic faith, KEEP IT TO YOUR D@MN SELVES.

You know according to European Archiologist Taj Mahal was built before Mughal emperor Shah Jahan, as a matter of fact it was built upon a Hindu Temple of Lord Shiva. Beleive it or not that's a fact............

Taj Mahal is awesome. But the roads leading to taj is full of camel dung, cow dung, garbage, and other filth. All streets leading to Taj are stinky. This shows the attitude of local government and government of India. They collect millions of dollars/rupees and does not clean the surroundings. I am an Indian living in U.S. If it was in U.S, the roads leading upto Taj would be pristine clean and won't leave any animals to poop. All Indians have the same attitude: that is the inside of their houses are very clean but the outside and surroundings are filthy and dirty. Everybody thinks it is somebody's job to clean. Even Taj neigbourhood! The federal government should take over the city and clean up the filth, peddlers etc. What a sad story.

Easily the most beautiful building I have ever seen in my life. It is - literally - breathtaking. Up close, it is even more stunning - the intricacy and detail make you love it even more. Everyone should visit the Taj Mahal at least once in their life.
