Pythagoreion and Heraion of Samos
Many civilizations have inhabited this small Aegean island, near Asia Minor, since the 3rd millennium B.C. The remains of Pythagoreion, an ancient fortified port with Greek and Roman monuments and a spectacular tunnel-aqueduct, as well as the Heraion, temple of the Samian Hera, can still be seen.
I worked on Samos as a holiday rep the island is one of the most beautiful of the greek islands I have visited and its people are so friendly and helpful I would recomed it to any one young and old alike
The islanders are so friendly the weather is brilliant but do be careful its hot out there you will need protection the only thing I did not like was the mosquitos they do bite try the local tavernas along the beach the food is excellent the fish is out if this world Pythagorio is a place I look forward to visiting.Jeanette Griffiths
