Everett Ridge Vineyards and Winery was built by the owner himself, who painstakingly put it together with his own hands. Its two-foot thick walls with elegant floral paintings make the place a delight in itself. The wines add to the pleasure. The luscious grapes are a treat to view, especially during harvest, when they bounce tantalizingly in carts hurtling off to the winepress. Rolling picnic grounds can be used for a lazy lunch, with the accompaniment of oddly-named reds, such as Nuns Canyon Syrah, or familiar whites, such as the Chardonnay. Stop at the wine shop that does brisk business, despite the slightly pricey labels.

Everett Ridge worth the stop
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/24/06
We stopped by Everett Ridge in Healdsburg on the way to the Mendocino wine country. I like the improvements in the wine. In addition to their tasting menu, they had a bottle of their estate zinfandel and syrah open. To our less sophisticated taste buds, it all tasted good. However, they also had a Zinfandel-Cabernet port which won us over -really good when paired with figs during the tasting. We came home with two cases. Overall a fun morning in Sonoma California. A nice end - and with a 30% discount for a case, we made away like thieves! For organic, I like Everett Ridge, just north of Davis Bynum on West Dry Creek Road. Everett Ridge was just sold, so I don't know for sure if the new owners are still making organic wines, but you could call them.
