Huong Hai Junk
Halong is not for the conventional tourist. This hidden, nondescript city is a veritable paradise for those who discover it. Nestled on the border of China, it has a beautiful stretch of beach land overlooking the peaceful bay. The Huong Hai Junk service offers package cruise trips on the Halong Bay in roomy, cabin boats, where you can kick back and lazily eye the fishermen at work, or admire a spectacular sunrise or sunset. The cruise ships are of interest too, designed in the old Vietnamese style. Tours can go on for a couple of days, during which you will be treated to a welcome aboard drink, breakfast, meals, and tea as you take in the country. A day trip is available too. There is plenty of free time for a swim in the tranquil waters, but be sure to take along some extra clothing – there are no laundry services here!
