Description
Perched atop Atago-yama, the little hill between Kamiyacho and Shinbashi is the serene Atago Shrine, which houses this restaurant. Here you can savor the flavors of slow-cooked Japanese cuisine, within a traditional decor of wood, bamboo and green upholstery. Over the years, the restaurant has come to be a local favorite, people find temporary solace in its peaceful environs and sheer pleasure in the cuisine, prepared using only the local ingredients found around Tokyo. The only problem could be the uphill climb, especially post 8p, after which the new elevator ceases to operate. Also knowing some Japanese would help, as the place is full of locals who might speak very little English!
