A Must Stop For History Lovers
By ,
The Musee' de l'Armee' and the whole Invalides complex is a must stop for history lovers. The Emperor's tomb is in the basillica. The museum proper is amazing and just surrounded by different cannons (and a moat)... and hidden on the side is the Musee de l'Ordre de la Liberation. (The Museum of the Order of the Liberation) The Order was founded by General de Gaulle and the museum is about the Liberation and those that participated. Great stuff. I saw the only Welrod I've ever seen there and could get within 1 foot of it to see the details.

Souvenirs
By ,
I bought a souvenir, Napoleon replica pistol for my son. It was confiscated at the airport. Do not buy these and do not buy the cannons. The museum should send me one. The best buy Napoleon's diary, however, the price is excessive at 50 Euro. I do recommend that you read this book. I also would like to get a miniature of Napoleon't chair, if anyone can tell me how. Otherwise it is a good museum.

Great museum
By ,
This museum has a great display of scores of suits of armor. It offers great explanations and displays of weapons and armor as they progressed from the 12th to the 18th century. There was ample room to wander through the exhibits without being crowded. The best part was the multi-media displays of WWI and WWII. These were especially interesting as they showed the wars from the French point of view. I spent 3 hours here, and could have spent 6. Napoleon's Tomb is in a beautiful building (the tallest in Paris until the Eifel Tower). It had a very good audio guide.

A different museum
By ,
The musee d'Armee houses ancient military weapons. There are guns, swords, armor and canons. I drug my husband around Paris to things I had planned to see. This was a treat to him and he enjoyed it. You can use your museum pass to get in. From the Metro go straight and you will see a huge lawn on the right. The museum is in front of the lawn. We also went to Napoleon's tomb. It was nothing like I expected. The tomb was huge! Get the audio guide, it's free.
