Want to indulge in an exquisite dining experience? Then head to Les Ambassadeurs in Hotel de Crillon. Classic dishes with a few hints of contemporary flavors line the menu card. Top quality ingredients and skilful preparation procedures are reflected in the meals served. Go ahead with award winning wine steward's recommendations to pair your meal with one of the smooth reds, or the sparkling whites. The work of interior designer Sybille de Margerie is worth appreciating. This former ballroom of Dukes of Crillon has been thoughtfully transformed into a restaurant, without altering its rich and classy glow.
For a number of years a friend and myself would find
ourselves in Paris for business. In Paris there are few
top restaurants that are open on a Sunday. Ambassadeurs at the Crillon is one of few that offers
a Sunday dining experience.
The grand surroundings of marble and crystal that
overlook the street are amazing to start with.
The service and the food compliment the room
in all ways.
I will admit that my friend and I headed to Ambassadeurs each time with one thing in mind -
the roasted Bresse chicken for two. It became our
personal 'joke' so to speak as we chatted in advance
of our Sunday Chicken dinner at Ambassaderus.
Howver - it is the most amazing chicken you will
ever taste. I hope it is still part of the menu.
The chicken (with pedigree tag on its leg) is roasted
to perfection and served with a reduced au just sauce. There is no other chicken like it and the
simple method of preparation in the skilled hands of
Ambassadeurs' chefs is truly an experience.
The wine list is expensive but of course excellent.
Within the menu are numerous choices for starters
and desserts as well. It is a great choice for a Sunday evening dinner of high dining. One word
of caution - do dress the part - the room is an
amazing setting and you do want to fit in.
