Not only did they answer the phone on a Sunday night to answer all my questions, they also served as a quasi travel agent, e-mailing us with scads of great information on Hawaii. Matthew & Keira are the ultimate nice people. As the owner-operators of Hawaii Food Tours they were so helpful for my wife & I on our honeymoon in Hawaii. The tour we went on was their daytime Hole in the Wall tour, a special day of eating, exploring, laughing and learning. Matthew & Keira seem to know everything about Hawaii; from the food culture to the history of their 50th state. We were given restaurant information, recipes, directions, tips and lots more. We have to say that you should book this tour NOW; don't wait or you may miss your opportunity to experience the finest that Hawaii has to offer. We left feeling like we had two new friends... and when we got home there was another email from Matthew & Keira that summarized all the stops we made on their tour. Bravo to Hawaii Food Tours! They made our honeymoon great!

As advertised, this Hole in the Wall Tour was the best tour I've ever been on. Our hosts, Matthew & Keira, are perfect in the way they make you feel special... just like family. We were shown the Honolulu that most people never see; local places, great information, and an abundant amount of eateries, marketplaces and bakeries. They even took our group of 10 on a behind-the-scenes tasting tour of Chinatown, which fascinated us. People all over town know Matthew & Keira, waving and greeting them throughout the day. We now know why they are considered Hawaii's ultimate food experts. They gave us useful information for our entire Hawaii vacation, writing little notes and bits & pieces of handy-dandy activity, hotel and restaurant references that helped make our stay that much more special. If you love food and fun you MUST go on this tour. We've read amazing reviews of Hawaii Food Tours on Trip Advisor, in Frommer's, Fodors, Lonely Planet, and many other places. We're sold, and you will be too. The $99 price is cheap when you consider that you won't have to go out for dinner, but more importantly, this is a lifelong memorable experience. This is a tour for anyone and everyone. Mathew and Keira were excellent hosts and very knowledgeable about the culture, history, and the relationships of these to the food of Hawaii. The tour covers so many different places and different types of food, it is hard to believe that everyone would not find this enjoyable. I have been to Hawaii many times and would have never found these food establishments on my own, but with the help of Mathew and Keria, they are now easy places to find and you know what to order. They aslo are great at explaining other food establishments and were very helpful in pointing out other places to try around the island of Oahu. This was a great time and they group of ten people that went on this trip, everyone had just as much fun. I will do this again next time I am in Hawaii and will bring my extended family to participate on such an educational and tasteful tour.

This was one of the best tours. I wish I would have done this earlier. It takes you to places that you would not find on your own. The food was great as well as the sites. Matthew and keira were also great they made you feel like old friends. I would highly recommend this for anyone to do. I also wish Matthew and Keira the best of luck!

Matthew & Keira showed us Honolulu the way great friends would. They are funny foodies who really love their city of Honolulu, offering lots of the yummiest foods available. Truly, this tour is like no other we've ever taken. The groups are kept small (about 10 people) so everyone on the tour feels like they're being treated special. We were taken to about 7 different places; two bakeries, a behind the scenes tasting tour of Chinatown (wow!), a sit-down "plate lunch" shop, and so much more. There was even a part of the tour where we saw the royal palace, government buildings, the Mayor's office, that beautiful missionary church, and all the lovely Christmas/Holiday decorations. We'd go back in a jiffy. Be sure to book this tour in advance and try to do it at the beginning of your vacation in Hawaii because Matthew & Keira are a wealth of fantastic information that will help make your Hawaii vacation even better!

Highly recommend this tour. Must-do...I noticed so many exceptional reviews for this Hole in the Wall food tour, as I checked reviews for different ideas on things to do, since this was our first trip to Hawaii. I was skeptical at first and began to look to find at least one negative one. Didn't happen. I wondered if this was too good to be true. But when we got to Hawaii, we heard the same wonderful reviews, so we decided to try it. Glad we did. It was a wonderful experience. Matthew and Keira are wonderful people who add so much to the food tour. They will definitely leave an impression on you. The food is definitle unique and tasty. Things we would not have necessarily tried on our own. I don't want to give anything away, but I highly recommend it. Feel free to contact me for any more specific questions.

Echoing many other glowing reviews, if we had just one thing to do again in Honolulu, it would be Matthew & Keira's hole-in-the-wall food tour. When you're staying in Waikiki, it's difficult to escape the vortex of expensive tourist food, but this tour takes you to places you wouldn't find on your own and offers a delicious taste of the confluence of cultures in Hawaii. Matthew and Keira are the perfect tour guides for this -- warm, welcoming, funny, knowledgable and thorough, they made us feel like we were the only people on the tour. The Hole-in-the-Wall Honolulu foodie trip was the one and only thing we had time to do during a conference, and it's the one and only trip we would do again. Food, culture, great companions and spirited tour leaders, Matthew and Keira. Many tastes and sensory experiences- from noodles to dried plums!

This is the most outstanding tour in Hawaii. This is our 3rd trip in the last 6 years and we thought we had saw and experiences everything the Island had to offer. We experienced sampling of food we never knew existed in the Hole in the Wall Tour. Along with the tour, we were given historical information on the businesses, but on the city as well. We were given information and locations about other activities on the Island,. We met wonderful new people and had the best day of our vacation. We were in a group of 10, but my husand and I felt we received tons of individual attention. We received recipes on our favorite foods we tasted, directions, telephone numbers and address of each place we visited, so we could go back on our own, which we did.
