Hawaii Food Tours
This is indeed a food-lover's idea of heaven! Culinary tourism in Honolulu has evolved in the form of Hawaii Food Tours, which organizes delicious trips to restaurants around the city. With rates depending on which tour you book, this is the perfect way for you get to indulge in a gamut of delicacies, most of them Hawaiian. Hawaii Food Tours offers different themed tours, including the Hole-in-the-Wall Tour which features food from locations a little off the beaten path, and the Gourmet Trilogy Tour which allows you to taste the offerings from three of Oahu's best restaurants including wine with each course. Each location unique, making this a food experience you won't soon forget. Bon Appetit!
It’s been close to 2 years since I took Matthew and Keira’s hole-in-the-wall food tour, and in that time I haven’t stopped recommending the tour to friends, family, or complete strangers who are going to Oahu. We didn’t know what to expect, but from the moment Matthew and Keira picked us up at our hotel, it felt like we were among long-lost friends who showed us a side of the city’s fascinating culinary history that we would never have found on our own. Matthew and Keira know food; they love food; they clearly love sharing their knowledge and making sure their guests have an extraordinary experience. The tour stands out as one of the brightest spots of our Hawaiian vacation, and when I return to Hawaii, the first activity I’ll book will be the Hawaii Food Tour.
a great experience thru oahu china town, local eateries and fried delights. both of them were informative and enjoyable.. would definetly recommend for a foodie and anyone interested in non touristy tours
3rd vacation to Hawaii, wished we had done this tour the previous times as well. Matthew & Keira made us feel like 'ohana. What a fun & knowledgable couple, they made this experience the best ever. A taste of culture is the best way to experience Hawaii. Will return to do the tour again!!
Keira and Matt were so bubbly and knowledgeable about both the "hole in the wall" eateries and the Hawaiian history behind the food. Equally as important, they knew the detailed history of every one of the dishes’ assimilation into Hawaiian culture. It was one of the highlights of our trip! A few days after the tour, my husband and I returned to Chinatown to take in more of the fusion between the unique Hawaiian and Asian cultures. We hope to return with our children to go on another one of their tours in the future. They were generous with recipes and suggestions for great eats on all islands. Do not miss this gem!

What a great tour! We have had the good fortune of visiting Hawaii at least a dozen times and we had just spent 3 days exploring Honolulu and Chinatown. We saw, learned and enjoyed more diverse and sensational food on this tour that the previous 3 days combined! We enjoyed places that we would never have tried on our own, even if we could have found them. So we highly recommend doing this tour early in your trip. Matt and Keira clearly love helping folks immerse themselves in local culture and great food, and they do a great job of it.
I wish we'd scheduled this tour for earlier in our stay because we learned SO MUCH about the various cultures that have all come together in Hawaii. Keira & Matt are delightful and will amaze you with their knowledge of the origin & history of foods that are uniquely Hawaiian. We listened, we ATE, we laughed, we ATE, and had a most enjoyable day together.
I recommend making this your #1 First day experience in Oahu as we were introduced to many places that we'll make a point of visiting when we come back. It was also fun to make friends with other group members and to share their experiences.
The best money and time I spent during a recent visit to Honolulu. Former chef, caterer and food writer Matthew Grey and his fiancee, Kiera were fun and full of information. For a full day of great tastings, interesting places and meeting new friends, I can recommend this tour to any and all foodies!
There's nothing to dislike about these folks or the tour! Their van is comfortable; Matt's a good driver and they keep to the schedule without seeming to rush anyone. There's not a great deal of walking, so most people can enjoy the stops. This is probably not a tour for children but teens, especially those interested in food and eating, will have a ball.
The Hole in The Wall Food Tour was great. We saw a brochure and thought this would be very interesting to learn about Hawaiian foods. The hosts Matthew and Kiera are friendly and fun. They showed us great places to eat Hawaiian food. We ate all day. They showed us some historical sites and where President Obama use to live. This tour is informational on food and history. I love fruit and China Town was cool. We had a great time. Thank you our new Honolulu friends
