Royal BC Museum
Visit the Royal BC Museum to be enlightened about local culture and long gone history. If the past is prologue to the present you will be able to see and explore countless exhibits and artifacts of lost worlds that cast a light on how we live today. Stroll through the Modern History Gallery to experience an authenic Herbalist Shop in old time Chinatown. The entire family, especially the young ones will be impressed with the startling exhibit in the Natural History Gallery of the life-sized replica of the dinosaur era Fossilized Woolly Mammoth complete with massive tusks and teeth. When planning your visit consider a trip to the National Geographic IMAX Theatre that's within the building. Royal BC Museum is a world class institution that is as entertaining as it is educational and a genuine treat for everyone.

I visited the Royal BC Museum twenty years ago, and again in July 2007. It is one of the best interactive natural history museums that I have ever visited. Whether you want to know about the history of the area, the first nation people, or the geological history, this world-class museum has it all---just be sure to allow yourself enough time to do it justice; it is time well spent. We took a short tour of the old town area in the museum with a docent and that added a lot to our experience.
My wife and I had a wonderful time both times we visited this city. Once for a day trip from Seattle (catamaran); and once for the entire weekend. We will return for a full week prior to this year's end. The museum is one of the best we have ever visited. For a small place, it has an extreme amount of anthropolical standpoint. The personnel were helpful and most of all, friendly. Definitely recommend visiting if you come to Victoria.
Always a pleasure to go the Royal BC Museum. It had been nearly 10 years since I had visited last, and I was pleasantly surprised to see quality maintained. We visited the Titanic Exhibit. I do wish there was more "re-built rooms." But overall a good experience. If you are coming to BC, you must check out the heritage that this great nation has to offer. A definite must!
