Manhattan Express Roller Coaster
The New York-New York Hotel & Casino has wonderfully imitated the city of New York and its attractions. And the Manhattan Express Roller Coaster takes you for a joyride past the replicas of the Big Apple; Empire State Building, Chrysler Building to name a few. Speeding up to 67 miles per hour, the ride specializes in a 203-foot drop. The hotel also offers packages, which include, unlimited rides, souvenir T-shirts, food and drinks, and clown dolls. As for the experience - absolutely dizzying!
I can't believe after all the years of riding coasters, that it took this one to put me out of commission. A visit to the doctor with perscribed drugs and physiotherapy. I will say this though, everybody has different body mechanics and this coaster is cripling to me. My advise to the enthused would be not to buy an all day pass unless you're under 16 and if you still choose to do do so, make sure you do it at the end of your trip as not to be laid up in the beginning of it. ;)
Togo coasters have a reputation for being rough and this one is definitely no exception. One of the worst coasters I've ever been on. They should be paying ME to ride it instead of the other way round. Couldn't wait for the ride to be over - never again.
Love all roller coasters and took my daughter (12), who has been wanting to ride this since she was five, and I traumatized the poor kid!! This ride was jerking from side to side ~ violently! I felt a snap feeling in my neck after coming out of the loop, went to bed with pinching and woke up with the same pinching feeling. Will never ride this one again ~ absolutely a very bad experience! I am surprised this ride is allowed to remain open quite frankly.
I have been on many, many coasters but this one was banged us all around so much that I only rode it once even though I paid for a daypass! I was nauseus and then two days later, could not move my neck and my back seized up. Now, I was just treated for a jammed S.I. joint by a physio and am on some strong drugs from my doctor. She says I got whiplash from the ride. So....only ride it if you have a very strong neck and back and can take the rough abuse to your body!
First, too expensive for such a short ride. Second; too hard to get to from inside the casino. Third, staff are rude and obnoxious. Fourth, takes too long to get through the line. And finally fifth, it's the worst ride I've ever been on and I've ridden on many of the best coasters in the US. I would never bother riding it again and neither will my friends.
I loved it. The best coaster in Vegas!!!! Day or night you could see everything all of "New York" and you could see the strip. It was great we rode it four times and bought the pictures. for 14 dollars it was a little pricey but the family package was a good deal and re-rides are only 7 dollars. the only complaints were the staff was a little rude and where you get on it is located in Conney island which is a kids arcade so to get there you kind of have to weave in and out of children running around but there were arrows on the ground that said coaster this way and they lead you through with out having to run into to many little kids.
This ride is not so bad but $12.50 for it is a little too expensive. Even the infamous Cyclone at Coney Island costs more than half of that and it's longer (and "everything" in NYC is more expensive!). It was bumpy and a short ride. I've been on this twice because I wanted to go on an outdoor roller coaster in Vegas.
10 years ago this ride was $5. They've bumped it up to 12.50 and it will slam your head and shoulders. I don't consider myself a wimp but I got off the ride feeling as though I had been beat up. They do have a nice t-shirt for $5 which was a good deal, otherwise the ride and photos are very expensive.
