I have went to the crocker twice, the first time everything was wonderful. On my second visit, the cornbread tasted like it was left over from the day before, it was dry and very hard. The waitress acted like she could not remember our order, so she keep getting it wrong. I would be safe to say about four times she asked what we ordered. That was a turn off, since she should have written it down. LOL

The Best Seafood Dinner I've Ever Had
By ,
Like they say first impression is last impression. I have never been anywhere where the food is falling off the plate. My husband took me there on my birthday and I must say the food was beyond excellent. When the waitress came to take our order I told her we will have the fried fish dinner. She just automatically assumed that we were having the 2 piece, I told her no the 3 piece. She had to repeat what I said like she couldn't believe 2 people wanted two 3 pieces. I saw why she asked that after the food came. It's like you get double the pieces you ask for. Like we got the 3 piece it seemed like 6 pieces. The fish was cooked to perfection. It reminded me of the fish fry's that we have back home. I had to get a doggie bag. And the potatoes were also excellent. Seasoned perfect. Everyone was so nice. They really need to think about expansion. I will be returning sooner than later.

LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT! I was introduce to this place by a friend and she was raving on out good the food is. I'm from Va beach so when I got the chance to ride up to Richmond (2-3 hours) I had to visit the Croacker's spot. I'm not much of a fish eater but my friend told me that I had to try the veggie boat. Now I must tell you, When I say I'm not much of a fish eater...I hardly ever eat fish.EVER! BUT... after eating the veggie boat I crave for fried fish! Even to the point where i just recently drove all the way to richmond for it. :-) you gotta try the croacker spot. It can get a little loud by the bar...but the food will keep you zoned out! lol..it's that good :-)

Loved It!

I rode with a co-worker to Richmond to pick up some salon products and the three of us went out to eat. The distributor was extremely excited about wanting us to taste this food. We arrived was seated immediately, was served immediately and the taste of the food is unspeakable. I can't wait to take my family. I told my family we're going to have to take a trip there once a month just to go there to eat. I had the baked trout smothered in mushrooms and onion over a bed of rice and a block (literally) of cornbread...talkin' bout somethin' sweet. I also had a slice (block) of their butterscotch and cream cake. Again, it's one of those places you have to go for yourself...no one can tell you how the food taste! Great Food! Great Price! Good and Plenty!

I went to the Croaker Spot yesterday with a group of friends after work, January 14, 2011. They were practically empty. The waitress was on point and the food was good as always. Stay away from the macaroni. It still needs some work. Nevertheless, while chatting after eating, another waitress came to our table while we were talking and rudely cut off our conversation and stated: I see you are talking but we have customers waiting for a table, so can you get up and chat at the bar or somewhere else. Imagine the expression of a table full of professional black women. I immediately stated no we will not move to the bar but we will leave. When we stood up, we could see that there were no customers waiting, plus 5 empty stools at the bar. As we walked out there were at least 6 empty tables. The waitress that served our table, stated I will see you when you return. I then told the waitress, that you will not see me in here again and she replied why? I then pointed to the other waitress and stated, she just asked us to leave because we were just chatting but it is funny that she said that after you picked up your check and each one of us left you a $5.00 a piece tip. Then we all stated, where are the customers that was waiting because we did not see one customer waiting. The waitress apologized and we left. I called back and requested a supervisor. The supervisor stated that there was a guy and girl standing at the end of the bar waiting for a booth. Then see stated that she will speak with the other waitress. My personal opinion, is that the manager was aware that the waitress asked us to leave. I have never been to an establishment where the waitress ask you to leave. The purpose of restaurants is for people to whine down after work and chat. That is why we all went in a group. With that said, I will never visit the Croaker Spot again and if they feel that they are now going to start asking people to leave, they will be in bankruptcy again. Then you always hear that black people don’t support there own. How and why would you when they do this. I sent an email to every employee in my building asking them not to support the Croaker Spot. I also sent it to everyone I know on facebook.
