Milano's Italian Restaurant
Milano's provides decent Italian fare - pasta, antipasti, parmigiana and a well-stocked salad bar. It's an alternative to Williamsburg's many chain restaurants and its predilection for delicious, but heavy, Southern fare. Prices are a little on the steep side but portions are well-sized.
Not anywhere near as bad as what I read here. The veal we had was good, service was good, too. Prices are fair because the meal includes soup and salad bar and the hot rolls were fresh. Maybe not a 4 star but certainly not one. It is worth a try vs the commercial junk out there. I'll give it four just to bring up the average.
Cute place..awful food!!! For starters, totally disappointed by the salad bar...what place has a salad bar with no ranch dressing..The soup tasted old...I originally ordered the chicken marsala ($16), in which my chicken was rubbery and had no flavor...the spaghetti sauce tasted like it was straight from the can--not even Ragu quality...breadsticks tasted a day old..and to top it all off my silverware was dirty..After that I ordered the spaghetti with meatballs and meat sauce ($14), in which the sauce was not a meat sauce and I had 2 measly meatballs--which tasted like straight poor quality hamburger--no spices..For the prices on their menu and the quality of food, I will never return and I encourage others if you want to be disappointed--go there!!
if you like true italian food do not eat here. the layout is not family friendly. it is too packed for even a couple to get in and out easily. the food was very dissappointing. very overpriced for what you get. the chicken dish my husband had was overcooked and the noodles were very dry and overcooked to the point of being mushy. the lasagne was orange. it had no meat, no cheese and the sauce was from a can. being here was such a let down i kept telling my husband i was very sorry in asking to try it. it makes Sals and Olive Garden much more pleasant. let's not forget the breadsticks. they were very hard...hardend quickly after being bitten into., no flavor and very unpleasant. the only things i could say good about this place is the salad bar and our waitress.
i feel sorry for anyone who works there and even more so for anyone who chooses to eat there.
