Bizou, Charlottesville

My husband and I are from Pennsylvnia visiting my son and his wife who took us to Bizou. We are very casual people and like the unique hometown restaurants with great food when we travel. The food had an upscale presentation with a casual atmosphere, a huge helping of food, incredible service and was relatively reasonably price. I had their unique chicken pot pie and my husband had the salmon done perfectly over mashed potatoes and grilled veggies. Outstanding!

This is our favorite restaurant in the entire region. It's worth the 2-hour drive. Some part of the meal is dependably fabulous and everything is always very good, the wine list has good choices, the wait staff seem to like their jobs and like the patrons and are very flexible and accommodating AND there always seems to be room with very little wait in this sweet cozy bistro with a European feel. Even the chefs greet you as you enter.

We decended on them this past Friday with a group of 9 - a get-together after not seeing each other for 40 years - some high school chums. They were patient with us as we are an uruly group. The food was excellent as usual. I not only love the food and the wine list - but the wait staff actually can recommend a wine! Plus they don't take reservations so you can drop in as you like. One of the best values in town!!!
