Best Pizza ever (quite a surprise, really)
We stopped in Harrisonburg, VA for the first time, on our way from DC to Asheville, NC. I didn't really have high hopes for the food, esp. considering we rolled into town after 10 PM.
That said, this was honestly the BEST PIZZA my fiance and I have ever had (and we've been around the block -- Chicago, St. Louis, NYC). The crust was perfect and the sauce with just the right amount of tang. We got the Greek pizza (can't remember the actual name, but it had fresh basil, spinich, mozarella, etc.), and will be getting the cheeseburger version our next time through.
The shop is a bit of a sleeper -- we noticed it on our first walk by, but choose to start at a bar down the street. I'm glad we stopped on the way back! (Calhoun's, the recommendation we were banking on, was closed -- a brewery, closed by 10 pm! -- but I can't say I mind now...).
Besides that, the service and the atmosphere were great...we'll be back...
