Jess' Lunch, Harrisonburg

On the insistance of some coworkers I went to Jess' for chili dogs. First, the chili looked as if it had been squeezed from a tube or a small dog. Second, the hot dogs were wrinkled and tough. I had heartburn before I reached the parking lot. The place is dirty and the food is lousy.

I love Jess' hot dogs with chili and their milk shakes. It is one of the things I miss the most in Harrisonburg and where I have to go everytime I come home. Can't find any hotdogs to come close!

Jess is an old style diner, with the requisite greasy food, lounge abouts, and smoking. Enough said,. If you like that, it's a classic.

As a local, I wouldn't eat at Jess' downtown, it is...well...cockroach infested and has been for as far back as I can remember, some say it wouldn't be the same without them. Jess' 2 is a new building and as far as I can tell...much cleaner. It's located on Market Street. We eat there once or twice a month and we take all out of towners there, too. I guess it's pretty good because when the people we take come back to town they ask to go to Jess' again! Their chocolate milkshakes are about the best in town. My husband says the hot dogs are the best in the whole wide world! I say there definitely better than Nathan's at Coney Island!

They have the best hotdogs you can get anywhere around here....or anywhere I've ever been for that matter.

I can tell you that Jess's has the best hotdogs for miles around......everytine I go to harrisonburg I usually stop and get me a couple of hotdogs....they are yummy

we ate at Jess's 2 yesterdsay place is clean staff adequate food is good. Buuuuuutt waaaaaay overpriced $27 for burgers onion rings and desseert!!! the worst was when we left to pay they do not accept debit/ credit cards. they have an ATM machine to get money out to pay bill and they charge $1.50 per transaction!! who ever heard of such a thing WE WILL NOT BE GOING BACK!!!!! A JOKE

One of the best locally-owned eateries in the area. Everything here is great! I enjoy the cheeseburger with onions, pickles, lettuce and tomato. A simple combination, but so tasty! The ground beef is kept fresh. The original location downtown is the better of the two, there's just something about that spot having better food than #2, but both are excellent.

Best hotdogs i have ever had. Wish that they delivered out west. I have have some everytime I visit my mom.
