Years ago, Cracker Barrel was my favorite restaurant. Didn t matter where in the country, I loved Cracker Barrel. If it were an airline, I would ve had frequent-flyer miles. Then, about 3-4 years ago, I started to see a difference in the size and quality of the servings at our local CB. It seemed like maybe they were cutting corners to make it through the recession. I kept going back because they had been so good for so long. But each time, I left feeling like it wasn t just that great. So I stopped going there. Fast forward to this year, and our family decided to try them again. Over the past two months, we ve been to the Winchester CB twice, and have been very pleased both times. The food is very good. I don t think the country fried chicken servings will ever be as big as they used to be, but it s still very good. And the staff are as nice as just about anywhere else in town. Whatever they ve done to straighten things out, it s working. We ll be back.
By husband and I went to cracker barrell for dinner tonight. Even though we have eaten there in the past, I would like to say Thank you to Nikki our waitress who went out of her way to make sure we were taken care of. We were placed at a small table. My husband wanted to sit at a larger table and Nikki said that was fine. The table we sat at was not in Nikki's section. She continued to be our waitress and made sure we were taken care. After a bad day at work, it was so nice to have someone with a smile on their face and someone who seemed to enjoy her work. Thanks to Nikki for turning a bad day into a great evening.
I am looking for a restaurant for dinner tomorrow night (our anniversary) and it won't be Cracker Barrel. The food is great. The employees that deal with the customers keep me from Cracker Barrel. From the hostess, waitress to the cashier there is no hospitality. Fake smile that goes in several seconds. They just are not pleasant. Quite frankly I feel as though I am bothering them. A robot could give out as much warmth as they do.
I love love love Cracker Barrel!!! They're mac and cheese is awesome! Everything there is good. I go once or twice a month, but at the one is Woodstock b/c that's where I live.... The pancakes and french toast are good hangover cures. :P
