Not a favorite, but not bad. It takes a special personality to appreciate this place. I'm sure the beer is good but we didn't have any.
The menu seemed to have one flavor - spicy! Everything had wasabi, vinegar, red peppers, chilis... Not caring for spicy, there was really not a lot of variety. Food was fresh, healthy, well-seasoned. Hamburger was overdone. Portions were small.
But fifty cents for a slice of bread? No bread with the soup or salad, unless you pay. That's petty. No lemon with water. It was tough getting the server's attention, but service was friendly. I personally am not a fan of bringing a meal before the salad is finished, so we felt rushed through. And the main course was cold by the time I got to it.
Ambiance is open, clean, lovely wood, but somewhat boring. Huge televisions were broadcasting a basketball game. Music was modern instrumentals, not all that pretty. I was disappointed that there really isn't a lot of character.
I compared notes with my date afterward. We felt it was a good meal, but not really worth going back.
