Absolutely shockingleyPOOR! I had been There many times over the years , but never again, Smoking allowed?? Seriously?? The porteños were very small and not too tasty at ALL! Terribly dissapointing! Everything in There seemed very tired. Good bye old friend... I am not a hater but a foodie, tale your hard earned money elsewhere
Over the weekend my family and I decided to try out LasTapas for dinner...BAD DECISION. The service was good, but the food, drinks, and outrageous included gratuity in our check was terrible. For starters, the drinks were watered down, I ordered a Sprite and instead I got what taste like a generic knock off, my sons pineapple juice was also watered down. The edges of the bread were so hard that my family and I ate the middle only. The steak my husband ordered was tough and chewy, and the vegetable medley left a lot to be desired. Then to top it off there was a gratuity included that was close to $20 in a tip. Normally, I do not complain about tipping, because I understand that the tip is the majority of the waiters income, but I was so displeased with the food that it angered me that they already made the decision as to how much I was to tip. Then to top it off the next morning I woke up with a severe stomach problem which lead to vomiting and diarrhea. I dont know folks, do what ever floats your boat, but for me and my family...I will never eat here again nor recommend this place to anybody else. GOOD LUCK!
Las Tapas always gets great reviews in the media...and I'm not really sure why. Ambiance? Great. Service? Friendly and prompt. Wine list? Spot-on. Food? Okay...here's where we hit some issues. I found the food to be generally bland and over-priced.
Pros: Service, wine list, ambiance
Cons: Prices, so-so food
all in all, a nice place for dinner with friends. the food was good, and so was the sangria. as for the flamenco guitarist and dancer, not really sure they were from spain, but oh well... i'd go there again just for the awesome tortilla de patatas.
The service is excellent, the atmosphere is comfortable, the wine list is outstanding, and the tapas are authentic and delicious. There are many choices, regardless of your diet. If you've never been here, bring your sense of adventure. There are many things on the menu that you may not have seen before. We typically spend $60-$80 for dinner (two people), but the format makes it easy to spend as much or as little as you like. Give it a try.
