Pasara Thai Restaurant, Alexandria

A new face in Kingstown. As good as I've had. Authentic decor and "native waiters". Pad Thai, our bellweather, was as good as it gets and the Pineapple Fried Rice a beautiful presentation and surprise for the taste buds.

I have been going here since they first opened. Good food, a wide selection, and service is usually fast. My only complaint is that they aren't very generous with the rice portions and will charge you for extra. Service may be slower on weekends and summers due to the movie theater and other area expansion. Ordering for delivery can be slow (I would suggest pick up instead), and several times they didn't get my order correct when I called it in, so always check your order carefully before leaving.

The decor (e.g., paintings, carved tables) are beautiful. The chairs are cushy to sit in. The service was friendly and prompt. The food was just OK at best. The appetizers were not good (too spicy and one dish was weird/gross), and the entrees were sort of flavorless. Prices were reasonable.

This place will not disappoint. We've eaten at Pasara a half dozen times in the last couple of months; outstanding service, food, atmosphere and personnel. We've ordered several different dishes and have yet to encounter anything on the menu that hasn't made us say, "Oh my gosh, this is delicious". The problem is having enough time and stomach to enjoy it all.

The atmosphere is great. The tables are beautiful and the chairs are comfortable. I normally go to Rice and Spice off Beulah Rd for Thai. Pasara is bigger and the atmosphere has Rice and Spice beat. Even the dishes are nicer in Pasara. The stuffed chicken wings are great. Rice and Spice doesn't have those. The service is a tad slow and although the food is good and definitely worth trying, both the Pad Se Ew and Drunken Spaghetti (Lomein Kemow) are better at Rice and Spice.

I love this place! The atmosphere is lovely - the tables are carved wood overlaid with glass, the china is beautiful. I have brought many people here, and everyone has been so impressed. The food never disappoints. They are opening a restaurant on Connecticut Avenue in DC soon (Nov 2008) but not sure of the date - I can't wait, as it's near work. Truly, go!

By far the best thai we've had! My fiance orders the pad thai and I order the drunken noodles every time!!!

Charged extra for non-ordering food. Bad service, Bad customer service. Be careful extra charges. Make sure you remembere what you order, and check your bill before you pay. When noticed extra charges on the bill after we signed credit card bill, both waiter and the owner replied "We will never refund your money. We don't need to explain anything, the customers must know. Customer must ask before order." The table is small, and the waiter didn't come pick up finished dishes to make spaces. The water refilled only when we almost ready to go. We will NOT go back again.

Amazing food and service. The coconut juice is the best I've ever had, delicous!

My family and I love this place! The food is delicious, the atmosphere is cute and the wait staff couldn't be more friendly! Big portions, perfect for sharing! They also do great takeout and have it ready in a flash. Good prices, too!
