The food overall was good, I ordered stuffed mushrooms for an appetizer and got some egg beef and beet thing. The sausage platter was excellent my wife's veal was on a bed of hard rice. The veal was nice but the hard rice wasn't. Overall we probably won't be back. When we pay that much for a dinner we expect at least the food will be excellent and it wasn't.
After living 20 years in Germany, and knowing how to cook German food very well, we were pretty excited when we saw the Germany restaurant. The evening we visited the Rheingarten, there were only five customers, 2 waitresses, and the owner working that night. We waited very long for the drinks, and just as long for the food. The sauer braten was very dry, so we requested extra sauce, the waitress never return with the sauce, or even to refill our drinks. The food was awful, just like the service, a real poor imitation of German food. When we asked for the bill, we were presented with the wrong one, which was twice as much as ours. But the bad experience didn't end there, we left a three dollar tip, which was to much, for the awful service and lousy food. When we were leaving the restaurant, the owner followed us with the three dollars, telling us that we forgot our money, because this amount was not enough for a tip. We were appalled, and furious. We make sure to tell everbody we know, to avoid this sorry business
Stopped here on our way back to NY on 95. SO GLAD WE DID. Sick and tired of fast food, this place was a TREAT! Quick service, still open sunday evening, pleasant atmosphere, real german staff!
Plates were colorful, and tasty. I was even brought out some extra mustard by the chef, he said it would go better with some of the bratwurst on my Schlatte Platte.
Took the rest home with me. SUCH a great experience. I'll go there EVERY time I head to FL on 95!
I really enjoyed my meal!! I loved the atmosphere and the service!! Lentil soup was excellent, the salad was perfect, and the potato pancakes were exactly the way my Mom made them!! Thank you for a great experience. I plan to bring my husband there for a date! Although its a little on the high end - its worth every pennY!
GREAT and very authentic German food. Yes, you are paying top dollar but get the cheese plate and you will thank me. Never had room for dessert so I cannot help there. The sausage sampler was a good choice.
Make sure to make reservations.
