Vermilion, Alexandria

I went to Vermilion to celebrate my birthday. It was a wonderful treat! We selected the Tasting Menu and were not disappointed. The portion size was perfect and each course was delicious. The servers did a terrific job at explaining each dish, from the ingredients to how it was prepared. In honor of my birthday, my partner and I received a special treat (strawberry fried ice cream bites and two glasses of dessert wine), compliments of the chef and server. The price was in line with what I would expect of a restaurant of this caliber. We are excited to return and try the pub menu and again for any other special occasion! Great Job!

The most interesting variations of complex tastes.

I enjoy the cozy bar as much as the comfy restaurant. Food is always good with a posh twist. Try one of their house cocktails.

Definitely sit upstairs to dine. Inconsistent, but interesting menu.

A neighborhood gem.

Vermilion is a wonderful New-American restaurant in a vintage building on the edge of Old Town in Alexandria. The dining room is upstairs (handicapped patrons be aware), removed from the raucous bar downstairs. Service is efficient and the wine list is outstanding.

Great food...sometimes. The menu changes so much and sometimes it's fantastic and other times it's not good. The decor is fabulous though.

Love this place, especially for brunch. Never have I gone wrong when dining here. Always an attentive server and delicious well priced food.
