Welcome to Hee Been thank you for patronizing our retaurant. We have operated our family-owned business since 1964, the last ten years at our present (newly remodeled) location. Our name translated from Korean is Hee which means "fortune" and been which means "customer". So with our name we extend our very best wishes to you.We are horned by the many positive reviews and awards we have received over the years from such sources ad The Washington Post's Phyllis Richman, Zaga surveys, and KoreanDC.com(who gave us the top rating of all korean food establishments in northern viriginia) and repeated Washingotonian Magazine best-restaurant designations. We are committed to being the best korean restaurant in the Washington metropolitan area, which also offering some popular Japanes dishes.
I really like this resturant, the Sushi is always fresh, and the bufffet is outstanding the only compaint is the price, unlike most buffets they do not offer a discount for children I brought my ten year old only to find a $26.95 charge for a her meal. I felt that was excessive. Very good food, just leave the children at home!
This restaurant used to be very good. But they must have changed management in recent months because the upkeep has drastically declined. i went in the other day and every plate that I pulled up was dirty. They brought the dishwashing crew out to wipe down all the plates (not rewash them).
I have witness a waitress taking a leave of lettuce off of a used plate and restack it at the bar.
I used to go to Hee Been several times in the past. I was there again today around 2:30PM. Ordered from regular menu not the buffet, my gf ordered couples of spicy rolls and I ordered spicy cod fish soup. Big disappointed, the spicy rolls were way too spicy. We couldn't even taste anything except the spiciness. The soup was ok but not that great. The service was the worst, nobody checked back or refilled our drinks or even brought the check.
After waving at them to bring the check, they didn't say anything, no thank you, no good bye. I don't think we will go back again.
love it. this was my first time there. and i will go there again with my family. i am from London and i do not see that much Korean Restaurants. Anyway,i love this place and i will go back when i come to America
Having just returned from Korea, I think my wife and I might be a bit of a tough crowd when it comes to rating Korean food in the States. Some of the best, spiciest side dishes (side dishes being a large part of the Korean dining experience) in Korea came across as a bit plain at Hee Been.
That being said, none of the food was bad...and most left us with a taste for more.
