Ravi Kabob House, Arlington

This place rocks and kills other's dead on their locks. If you guys near the Ballston Common Mall check this out because this is a landmark. Even Obama comes here to get the Kabobs.

With some of the best South Asian kabobs (chicken are tops) this side of the Atlantic, naturally sweet vegetable curries, and crisp-fresh naan, it is absolutely worth the drive to Ballston; the brighter, friendlier, and easier-to-park good second incarnation outshines the original outpost.

Go for the kebabs, not the ambiance. But, the kebabs are so good, I would eat them in a cardboard box if needed. Hands down, the best kebabs in DC area.

Others rave about Ravi. I didn't like it at all. I am told their kabobs are Pakistani rather than Afghani so maybe I my expectations were off. Regardless, the interior makes McDonald's look luxe. On service, McDonalds wins again.

Excellent and consistent, a standard bearer for Pakistani-style kabob houses since the late 90's. Good curries and sides, always hot bread, cheap and fast. Lamb kabob, lamb chop kabob, curry of the day, chick peas and lentils always well prepared.

Oh my god this place is a G-E-M. The Samosas are a pregnant wife's dream come true.

Food this good certainly can't be healthy. Whenever my husband and I need to get a taxi driver to leave the city at 2 a.m. to drive us home to Arlington, we entice them with the (true) promise that we live behind Ravi Kabob. The fresh bread is tossed and baked where you can watch, and service comes with a smile. The grease is perfect to sop up a sour stomach after a night of drinking.

The lamb chops and kebabs are great. Slow service, everything cooked to order.
