Well you alway have people that like to put a great place down because they are down right bad people, I have been going to the Union for over 30years and my family and I love it, the Staff is great, food is the best and the Innkeeper Janet make you feel like you are a guest in her home. The waitress walk you around the place , tell you story and sing and have fun with you , the Chief Doug, will make soups and Veg's. just for your family when you request it. What else can you ask for , like a great writer said you can not please all the people all the time. Kept up the good work Union and my family will be up for Thankgiving and Chritmas.
Horrible place. At one time this was a good place to eat with great food and nice atmosphere, but no longer. The food is very overpriced and not good. Steak was over cooked and service was horrific. I will never go there to eat again. Years ago, it was nice, but it has gone downhill fast.
The staff at the Union Hotel requested that a Marine turn his Marine Corp shirt inside out or leave the restaurant. Sorry, I DO NOT care how good their food is, I WILL NEVER go there. Both my kids are in the military and that is the lack of respect this place has for our military...they will never get my business!
I LOVE the Union Hotel. Its a favorite date night place, great place to bring friends and family for a special night out or a relaxed Sunday afternoon! Awesome menu, great service. I love the basement bar!
This is our favorite restaurant for a very nice quiet evening out for fine dining. The Maryland crab soup is exceptional and Prime Rib cooked to perfection. I have never left without a hefty *doggy* bag. By the way, our dog has never seen this bag. Service is always gracious and courteous and drinks are plentiful. A very nice place to invite friends and have a good time.
Let me start by saying I have NEVER had a bad meal here. It is stuck in the middle of a little town back in the woods, inside is decorated turn-of-the-century, romantically lit and divided into smaller rooms so it doesn't seem so crowded. They always have a variety of things on the menu. I have had Duck, Venison Medallions, and even Hossenfeffer (look it up); but, for those that are really hungry, their Prime Rib always averages around 2 lbs (that's 32oz!!!). If you like mudslides, ask for a SnowBear.
