I must expain a few things about this comment. The rehearsal has been scheduled in a private room since April and other possible functions were turned away because they locked in this reservation. The menus and pricing are on line and available to anyone that wants to see them. These prices have not changed for years and the salad dressing is NOT an additional fee. We do not serve cheap appetizers they are included with the meal. I tried to be extremely accomodating and work with them but nothing I would do was enough. They wanted to bring their own salad dressings or serve ours in gravy boats. We serve individual dressings to each guest to make sure things are sanitary. I offered to accomodate with everything that was requested except one thing and it still wasn't enough. I really don't believe that anything I would have done would have made these people happy. We do hundreds of functions a year and I'm sure if you look at our track record you will see very few people that have problems with our establishment. Another issue was the taxes that I have no control over but were questioned about. We run our business by the book and are proud to still be in business and treat our customers with the satisfaction that they have grown acustom to for all these years. Sometimes you can't please everyone but we do our best.
A food allergist's dream. We dropped in for brunch one Sunday after visiting The Crystal Grottoes w/o a reservation but were squeezed in despite large parties. The hostess and waitstaff were friendly and attentive. The Sous Chef met with us, went through the buffet and still felt uncomfortable recommending our son to eat from the buffet. So he offered to make food off the menu fresh to accommodate his allergies. He reviewed all ingredients and personally selected a meal, side, and dessert for him. The food was tasty, not pricey, our kids ate until their stomaches ached from overstuffing (a rare occurrence) and we were overall very pleased. We plan to return for a romantic dinner one night.
My husband and I have eaten at South Mountain many of times. Our experience has always been outstanding! I make sure that I try something different from the menu every time we go, and each time the food is wonderful. The service is great and very friendly. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who likes fine dining.
Love this place. Food is good atmosphere is very nice and surroundings are beautiful. I spend almost the same amount of money at Outback as I would if I had dinner there. Would recommend for special occassions. My husband and I eat there every year on our anniversary. We also take out kids for brunch. It's cheap and a buffet.
I saw Chad the owner get into a bar fight at a nice bar I was trying to enjoy dinner at. He was screaming cuss words and threatening a man. He completely ruined my meal and my check was refunded. He was also thrown out of the bar, thank God! I would never eat at a restaurant where the OWNER shows so little respect for the dining industry as a whole!
Average food at a premium price. We got there at 5:00pm for our reservation and the doors were locked. We had to wait in a cold rain for a few minutes before a very snippy hostess let us in. She walked us through two very quaint and beautiful dining rooms into a large banquet hall with no ambience. When I politely asked to be seated at a different table, her fury was thinly veiled. The food was not worth the $25 a plate it cost... the lobster bisque was gritty, salty and had no discernable pieces of lobster in it. My filet mignon was stringy, unevenly cooked and a bit tough. My wife said her vegitarian pasta was good. Although the hostes was awful, the rest of the staff was delightful. Again- very disappointing food for the price.
Food - Mediocre at best
Service - Indifferent
Management - Apppalling
We were in the area for a weekend getaway and decided to try the Inn for dinner. Unfortunately we were thoroughly disappointed. There appeared to be no organized management on the premises. Reservations were disorganized, tables not ready, the teenaged hostess flustered. Two loud and obnoxious drunks were permitted to regale the waiting diners with shouted profanities while the bartender laughed and encouraged them. When we were finally seated by a large window, we were continuously interrupted by busboys retrieving items from behind our table. The waiter was not familiar with the menu and was completely indifferent in delivering service. The bread was pasty and of poor quality and the steaks lukewarm and mediocre tasting. This cannot be called fine dining in any sense of the term! We will never go back and had our bed and breakfast owners remove this restaurant from their list of recommended dinner choices.
This is a great place to have a romantic dinner or to just experience a great evening. The food from the soups to dessert were more then heavenly. I really recommend this to anyone. Their website is very nice with history and a full menu.
