AWFUL. I had passed this restaurant many times and being originally from NY, it looked like an authentic place right out of downtown NY. That is where the authenticity ended. The best part of the meal was the bottle of Chianti. The waiter brought bread to the table. That should have been a clue as to things to come. Italian bread should be served crusty and warm. It was cold and no better than what I could get at a grocery store. We also ordered a side of Garlic Bread. 2 pieces toasted with crushed garlic. My wife and I ordered Veal Parm and the special Lobster ravioli. The special is that there wasn t any pieces of Lobster in the previously frozen Ravioli. The sauce had a burnt taste. The Veal Parm was thick and chewy, any Veal I ve had you could cut with a fork. To top it off both dishes were ice cold and had to be sent back. The Manger was very attentive to taking this back to the kitchen. I expected a throw back to Little Italy and I got Chef-Boy-R-Dee. This was my first visit and my last.
Probably one of the best italian restaurants in Frederick. The restaurant itself is not the fanciest place you'll ever see, but the food is very good. That adds to the ambiance of a small local establishment for me. The white pizza appetizer, is a special treat. Try it, if you get a chance. I couldn't give them 5 stars though, since their bread is nothing special. In fact, it's just plain old white bread.
Overall, highly recommended!
Most underrated restaurant in Frederick. See also Marcela's in Walkersville. Doesn't look like much from the outside, but the sauces are great!
Reasonable prices and portions. House wine is drinkable and won't break the bank.
Try the seafood calamari over linguini.
Note - they stopped making their own pasta several years ago, but it is still very good - just not as good as it was....
Incomparable in the Frederick area, questionably the state of Maryland
perfect atmosphere, great food, great selection and courteous and informed staff, Nido's is the best italian you can get in the city
If you have'nt been; You simply have to make the trip
conveniently located across from the library and in the heart of the city, Nido's occupies the casual italian experience that every city has to have
cheap prices, great food
I'd recommend the seafood sampler with herb and garlic sauce
