Frederick is a really charming town, with lots of interesting shops and a nice feel. There are also lots of restaurants. I really wanted to like this place, but I was left flat by it. The pizzas, made in a fired oven were good, but the beers were just so-so, and the dinner menu was pretty lame and expensive for what you were getting. We were there (twice) on a Saturday evening, and while it was crowded, the service was rather slow. Ad it all up, and you’re probably better off going for lunch than you are for dinner. That way you can get a sandwich or a pizza and just one beer.

Yay, a place for adults! Good selection and quality of beers, staff at the bar (I normally don't get a table) are responsive and capable, and the food is solid and of very high quality. Typically, I'll get one of the wood-fired pizzas, the macaroni and cheese with local ham, or the steak specials they sometimes run. I can't attest to the lobster, but they sell a lot of them and I never see or hear anyone complain. The one caution I'll make is that on summer and fall afternoons, do not expect to walk in and get seated on the patio immediately. Yes, this means you may have to actually wait, hipsters! Another caution is that on Friday and Saturday nights, the age of the crowd in the bar drops rather drastically after 10pm, and it can be hard to get a seat anywhere in the bar after 8pm. If that's a problem for you, either come early or leave early. Several HD televisions for games, but there are a few places where it's pretty hard to see because of the pillars around the bar, left over from when the building was actually the old City Hall! Parking: there's a city ramp behind the pub. It's a dollar. Use it. You'll never find street parking most evenings or afternoons.

Brewer's Alley Restaurant is Sweet, Sweet Brew
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/3/10
Would you believe I've never eaten a thing at Brewer's? That's because I go there, simply, for the beer! The selection is exquisite and educated. They also offer some of the most wonderful and ecclectic live entertainment to be found upstairs. Beautiful building, smart and diverse performers, great beer - I just can't ask for anything more.

So, a childhood friend of mine came up to Frederick after about three months of not seeing eachother. We wanted to eat a nice lunch at a above average resturant, like Gladchuck Bros. or similar (I was really in the mood for tapas). Well, it just so happenes that we planned to dine on a Monday afternoon and to our horror find that an abundance of rest.'s are closed on Monday's. After looking for someplace to eat for over an hour we were so famished we decided just to go into whichever the next place that serves food was,,,,that brought us to Brewer's Alley. When you first walked in if felt like you were bombarded by WAY TOO MANY females, with prestigious attitudes at the hostess station, We wanted to eat on the patio, but there was a wait. and we weren't up for waiting another second for food. The waitress was very rude. I'm in my mid-twenties & she eyeballed my licence for what seemed like forever (I didnt even Drink alcohol!!!) Nothing on the menu was what we wanted. All in all this seemed like a horrible conquest in comparison to what we were hoping for. We ordered this soft pretzel with cheese and jalepeno's (we didn't recall eating any peppers this whole meal), A supped up BLT, macaroni and cheese (served as a double side order for around $12.00), and i really wanted their salad-something along the lines of a house salad. Well, the pretzles came out first, and it was so WONDERFUL thath we instantly wished that we had just ordered six pretzels for our meal rather than any other food lol. Well, after a very long story the food was excellent...the salad was so fresh with an amazing dressing. My girlfriend who was the one complaining the mac n cheese price was "so glad we got it"- the sandwhich was good too, i really loved the mustard they served with it. (just a spicy must, but great!) So I guess I'll give it 3 stars...the service was awful from the minute we walked in the door until we left, but every part of the meal was amazing!

Brewer's Alley has a great atmosphere, decent food, and really good beer. I've eaten there several times, and it's good. If you're expecting something amazing, try someplace else, but if you want some good food with good beer it's a really good place to have a meal. The pizzas are probably the best part of the menu, in my opinion, and you can't beat their Thursday Lobster Night deal.

Honestly, the food is just so-so - absolutely nothing great (I've been there 15-20 times), but the beer is the best you'll have around here. Ask for the small samplers before ordering a full beer.

Breakfast with Santa
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/5/08
Last year we went to breakfast with Santa at Brewer's Alley. Nice buffet with good food, but the wait staff wasn't very quick. We were half way through our meal before we got our drinks. Could have been that they were under staffed that morning, but that was our first time there and it didn't leave a great taste in my mouth. Worth checking out a 2nd time.

MMMMMM!

Just writing this review makes me want to go eat some mac n cheese! I love Brewer's Alley. I think it has a great ambiance, as well as good food. The first time I went I had the best steak in my life. The next time, I ordered the same steak but it had a different sauce and so I didn't like it, so they cooked me a new one. Great accomodation for that! I also LOVE their desserts.. they are so great! I highly suggest Brewer's Alley.
