This is more of a warning, if you are allergic to seafood (of any nature) eating at Annie's is akin to playing russian roulette.
My wife and I (who is allergic to seafood) have eaten at Annie's many times over the years. When we go she usually gets the chicken alfredo. We always tell the wait person that she is allergic. They have told us that she should avoid the fried foods such as fries etc, since they are cooked in the same oil as the fried fish. She never has eaten them.
This last time that we went we told them about her allergy, and ordered the chicken alfredo. I'm not allergic which is why we go. Before we made Easton her throat started closing up and we were forced to go to the doctors to have her allergic reaction treated.
While we love Annie's it is apparent that they do not in any way attempt to keep food preparation areas separate.
Annie's has, hands down, the BEST cream of crab soup EVER!!! My husband and I have spent seven (7) years trying crab bisque, or cream of crab soup at every restaurant we have visited that has it on the menu, and while we have come across excellent versions prepared by a couple other places (try Susquehanna Inn in Conowingo for theirs!) no one else's equals Annie's!!! It is extremely filling, and we have found that we have no room for anything else if we have a bowl of the bisque, but others have always commented favorably about the food they have ordered. Service has always been very good, and the atmosphere is relaxed.
We've been to Annie's about six times and they are NEVER consistent. We tried seafood there and it was not very good. Next time we went to we stuck to bar food - sandwich, wings. They were pretty good. The next time we went we ordered that again and it was cold and they messed up our order. The one thing they are consistent about is the brunch. Go hungry -- because they have everything you can think of and it's all pretty good.
The crab soup was wonderful and the view was lovely. The waitress was thoughtful with our children and very courteous. However, the food service was entirely too long and the manager's daughter was condesending rather than customer-friendly. I was disappointed because the overlengthy food service diminished the success of our dining experience and an unsuccessful dining experience cannot be compromised at any cost.
Crab soup is delicious, and the pile of crab on the top lets you know it really IS crab soup. Christmas season very festive. Piano player on weekends is terrific - at least one a night, and at least three rotate on different nights - I once heard the entire Gershwin's Rapsody in Blue on piano at dinner, a rare and superb treat. Waterfront view is mostly of marina slips, but once inside, you really are OK without the view. Yummy! Priced right - not an arm and a leg for great food in a great atmosphere - both served well. Well-appointed bar is in a separate area, so diners and drinkers do not impinge on each other. Nice group area off the main dining area, and also a summer porch area.
