6:00 reservation, got there at 5:30, told to check back in a 6, did that and and was told it would be about 45 minutes before we were seated. asked what does a reservation mean. young lady said that meant you would be seated when the next table is ready.asked why is that and she said that is the way we do it here. not a good answer. 15 minutes we were called, thought that is not bad, but wait we were taken to a hall waiting area and stood there for 30 minutes.i asked why we were taken from a seating area to this hall to stand. told i do not know this is just the way we do it.no one seems to care about good service.the food was good, but starting out with poor service makes the night unpleasant. will not recommend and will not be back.

I made reservations 2 weeks ago for dinner for 8. We arrived on time and waited 40 minutes before they called our party. Then we were taken into the hallway to be staged for our seating. That was another 20 minutes. This was neither comfortable nor safe. The folks doing the seating were not remotely polite. The chef, waitress and food were good, but I'll NEVER go back. There are plenty of places who know how to take & keep a reservation and who know how to treat you if you do have to wait. By the way, the wait for folks without a reservation was comparible to our wait. What a disappointment.

i absolutely love this restaurant! my husband and i go here for almost all special occasions. i've never had a bad experience here yet. i just wish the prices weren't so high. but they give you so much food, i always have a take home box. so it makes up for the prices i guess. because you're basically getting another meal to take home. :)

Was seated next to a crying baby (teething, crying baby) who cried during the entire meal. Not good for $104.00 for 2. The food was probably good, the chef tried to be but the crying baby took the show. Won't return.

Can't get them to answer the phone to make a reservation. Just taking one point off for that. The food can change that.

January 4, 2010 To the owner of Kobe, I can’t tell you how disappointed we were with the food and service on 12/31/2009. I made reservations for 7 at 7 pm. Although we had to wait 19 minutes to be seated, this was just the beginning of a horrible night. The waitress came over and took our drink order and 2 sushi orders quickly. She informed me that there were not any non-alcoholic drinks, but after looking at the menu, I ordered a Virgin daiquiri. The drinks came out at separate times, but when the 2 orders of sushi came out, they were all on one plate and not divided. I ask her to take back the sushi and divide it up into 2 orders. She then gave me an attitude. Upon returning 12 minutes later, the order was divided, but there was not any bowls for the soy sauce. I let that slide. The salads and chef came out all at once, and we felt hurried to finish up the soup and salad. My wife and I did not get to the soup, let alone my 3 children. As the chef was preparing the meal, he was lame on the tricks and humor only doing 2 small tricks. Needless to say my kids were disappointed. We ordered the Filets rare and med-rare. When he did serve the food, the meat was well done and way over cooked. Also, the Chef put shrimp on my plate that I did not order. During this time, our drinks were empty; all 7 of them, and the waitress did not come back for a long time. She then filled 5 of the drinks and forgot 2 of them. Not even 5 minutes later, the waitress asks us if we need boxes, handed us our check and said thank you. We were even close to finishing our meal. What really upset us is when they started trying to clear the glasses and dishes as we were eating, asking us if we were done. We felt like they were pushing us out the door. The waitress did not ask if we needed separate checks or combine the 7 parties. As it stood, we wanted separate checks. But no, she put here 18% tip on the bill and never saw her again. We come to Kobe 4-6 times a year for special occasions. I met my wife at Kobe and it was our first date. We tried to over look all the events that happened that night. But for 262.00, it just made us feel like no one cared. I will wait for a response from Kobe, and judging by the time and way Kobe responds, we will make a decision for future business.

All in all a pleasant experience. We had a party of 7 so we pretty much had our own table. The waiter was friendly and efficient. We had to wait about 15 minutes for the chef to appear. I guess he was putting together our order. More food than you can eat and it was delicious. I ordered steak and my wife ordered chicken and shrimp. The shrimp was delicious. The chicken and steak is rather bland cooked on the grill, but with the sauce it is very tasty. Next time I'm getting the shrimp. The prices may appear high to some at an average of $25 and up, but all in all well worth it. We will be going back.

The food was excellent and the chief was great but the waiter really sucked! He rushed us with our ordering, brought the wrong beverages and had an attitude. Even other couple's seating at our table complained about him. I have no problem with the food and the chief but the waiter was an issue.
