International flavor respite in an ulikely urban setting. Good lite fare and superb coffee. Nice atmosphere, servers. Reasonably priced. I'll return.

My daughter and I went for breakfast. What a quaint, lovely place. However, I do have to agree with a previous reviewer, breakfast is a bit overpriced. Would definitely go back, maybe try lunch.

Cozy lunch and coffee spot
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/15/08
Great Federal Hill place for lunch or coffee. Good options for seating for just a meal or an afternoon. Parking is tough but it is worth it. Classic exposed brick.

When I have a chance...
By Tim, 4/13/07
When I have a chance to go to Spoons - I do. I love sitting down and having breakfast in such a lively place. It can get crowded, so get there before 10am most weekends.

a bump in the road...
By Homaira, 3/22/07
...no room to spoon but plenty of room to sip coffee and work. Electrical outlets were plentiful. The staff was friendly and helpful. Sparse population could have been due to mid-week daytime visit. Unfortunately there was construction going on in the back. Will go back when the project is finished. 4 star place if not for the construction.

Great atmosphere to hang out in (there is wireless), however for a breakfast place the food is overpriced.

Great Food, Not So Great Service
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/7/06
I love their coffee and "real" food like pancakes and sandwiches. Their danish and other baked goods are obviously commercially made, and not very good. The coffee is excellent, I usually get the darker roast, as it's hard to find good strong coffee in Baltimore -- Spoons gets it right every time. Counter service is usually good, but be prepared to get your own silverware, menus, and order at the counter for sit-down service. The waitresses aren't particularly friendly, and we've had more than one breakfast served way after the food was cold. If you stick to the coffee, bagels, and sandwiches, Spoons is a great stop on your morning commute!

Best kept secret!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/7/06
We drive weekly from Columbia. It's the only place I will eat pancakes/hotcakes. The servers are friendly, very clean, and at home atmosphere. A short line during the summer but superb breakfast places always have a line. Prices are excellent for the quality of food. We have moved out of the area and when in town, we leave BWI and drive to Spoons. All six of us :-) Great place for a single person to have breakfast...individual "home chairs/rockers," play space for a few kids, and a computer.

Best Coffee House B'fast in Town
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/31/04
Spoons has outstanding coffee, very solid food, (breakfast is their thing; try the berry flaps) the prices are reasonable (perhaps a touch high, but worth every penny) a fantastic ambiance and the owners have their act together. This place gets berry, berry busy on sunday mornings...Yet they hold it together quite well. They know what they're doing, do it well, so why isn't everyone a little happier? The staff too often looks like they wish you hadn't shown up. Go figure...Cause I can't.
