I traveled from Arizona to experience the G & A famous dogs and I was not disappointed. I ordered five to go. The dogs were succulent, moist with bursting flavor, and heated perfectly. The hotdogs were cradled gently in a flavorful bun that was steamed to just the right consistency. They were sprinkled with chopped onion, a hint of mustard, and dressed with a home-made meat chili. Truly, the best dogs I have tasted in a long time. I ll be back tomorrow for more. The service was spot on, the value cannot be beat as the owners are without question the hot dog King and Queen of Baltimore.
Went there for lunch after watching Food Network. Watching Guy take a bite on TV made my mouth water for hot dogs! Atmosphere: very time-warpy, uber-retro! The people: Andy and his family plus a friendly red-head with great people skills. Now to the food: The hot dog was good. but nothing special. No flavor explosion, no wow, taste was sorely lacking in the sauce. Quite disappointing. The coney burger, blaaaah, no flavor to the meat, the onions not caramelized enough, the sauce, once again greasy and very little flavor. So many fat calories, so little taste! My friend had a crabcake. Yummy, but fried and a little dry. Lotsa crab meat, but no sides, just the sandwich is pricey at $11. Overall, we were wondering how many years ago FN did their special. Maybe the recession took a toll on their ingredient purchasing, not quite sure... All in all, a good value for the price if you're looking to fill a hungry belly, but not worth the hour drive!
