Black Olive, Baltimore

A group of 8 of us went late in the evening and didn't sample the fresh fish, which looks to be the star attraction. We had an outstanding set of small plates (mussels/ouzo, sardines grilled in grape leaves), a special of soft shell crabs and kale in phyllo, lamb chops, .. Everything was fresh, well-prepared. Service was good--it was late and there were a bunch of us so it wasn't the easiest service job. We didn't hit the wine menu seriously.

One of our favorite restaurants in Baltimore. The fish is always fresh and prepared perfectly!

Highly overrated. Seems to me that the Black Olive rests on its laurels rather than seeking to maintain a high quality establishment. That said, I'm not a fan of whole fish, so perhaps I'm missing a critical part of the experience

Fresh, Fresh, Fresh seafood. Tables too closely situated, but the food makes up for the squelching.

Excellent across the board

My sister and I went to this restaurant for Restaurant Week and had a great meal. A hearty fish soup, a melt in the mouth lamb dish, crab-heavy crab cake and to die for carrot cake -- so moist. I still think about the cake. The service was attentive and helpful. Light and charming small space rooms in which to enjoy your meal.

Food was delicious from the appetizer to the desert. Wine selection is amazing and reasonably priced. Very romantic spot in the evening, especially during a weekday.
