Proving that good things do indeed come in small packages, Matsuri serves succulent sushi and traditional Japanese cuisine. The tastefully decorated dining and Sushi bar area is tinybut thanks to a friendly staff, and nice lighting, that atmosphere is one of relaxed intimacy. Sushi fans will delight not only in the vast selection of rolls and pieces, but in the absolutely first rate ingredients, and the beautiful presentation. The cooked selections are also wonderful, featuring light but savory sauces and lots of crisp vegetables.

The real deal in sushi-land! Authentic chefs, generous sashimi cuts, and reasonable prices. First time I've not had to ask for more ginger, wasabi or shredded radish. If it's the food you're after, GO; if it's atmosphere and putting on airs, stay home.

The sushi is just ok, nothing extraordinary. I have tired sushi in Japan and many other countries, and this does not come close.

Best sushi in downtown Baltimore. Fresh fish. Is much bigger than it looks from the outside. There's a whole upstairs seating area. Choice 2 or 3 outdoor tables in good weather great for people watching.

BEST SUSHI without a doubt. Everything is excellent, though a bit pricy. Try one of the signature rolls even if you're a sushi purist -- you won't be disappointed.

The sushi chefs (3 of them) did say goodbye. That was about it in the charm department. I fetched my chopsticks and napkin, which took care of that problem also. The tuna sashimi was excellent and served as a flower, which was clever; the spicy tuna roll was so-so. All in all, good but not crazy good.
