Set on a cool tree-lined street in Northwest Baltimore's Mount Washington neighborhood, this wonderful Middle Eastern cafe called Desert Cafe offersdare we say it?an oasis of calm amid the bustle of daily urban life. The spicy fare, which includes an amazing Mango Curry Chicken Salad, is perfect for lunch or dinner. And with shiny metal stars hanging from the ceiling and colorful pillows scattered about, it's hard to imagine a more hospitable place for a relaxing meal.

Great hummus (try their different flavors - although they sound bizarre they're good) and nice staff. We go here fairly frequently - my only complaint is their quiche is wonderful but they are frequently out of it. The nut torte is to die for.

Middle eastern food and belly dancing or just decadent deserts and coffee has made this cafe one of the most romantic and intimate cafes in Baltimore. My favorite place to ask forgiveness for those hard to forgive events that manage to come between lovers.

My boyfriend and I tried this restaurant on Valentine's Day and we loved it! The atmosphere is cozy and comfortable. The staff is very friendly. There is an extensive list of vegetarian options but also some meat dishes for non-vegetarians. The food is very good and very reasonably priced and the BYOB helps you save more money. The desserts are freshly baked and very delicious. I recommend the Falafel platter, Greek Island and cheesecake!

I love, love, love this place. The food is awesome well worth checking out. There is no liquor license, just an FYI. The atmosphere is wonderful. The establishment is a bit on the small side, so I'd suggest making a reservation or just going early.

A jewel waiting to be discovered. BYOB. Excellent food and service. Greek Island salad is a must. Conveniently located in Mt. WAshington.
